Surprise!!
I kept tight lipped and when the day finally arrives, I start having a bit of a freak out that SOMEONE was going to oversleep and miss their bus and therefore miss the train etc etc. I mae multiple calls that were left unanswered. FINALLY someone wakes up and gets their ass on the train (after catching a cab because public transport is just too hard for some to deal with!!). After alot of confusion because someone couldn't count and therefore I almost ended up on the wrong train carriage, I broke the news. We're going to Manly. This is when he freaks out and starts screaming that he wants food and he'll starve if he has to wait til he gets to Manly. I tell him to just get a drink and we'll grab a proper lunch when we're in Manly. "Cheeseburger?" is the response. Long story.
We get off at Circular Quay and buy our tickets, grab a donut and quickly took a few happy snaps. The purpose today is to be a tourist. We were both born and raised in this city, but yet we're complete oblivious to the beauty that surrounds us. Today, we're going to see it for the first time:

Our beautiful cityAs we're on the ferry, I pull out a few sheets of paper and gave them to Moishii. As he starts to read whats on the paper, he starts freaking. "WHAT IS THIS?? WHATS GOING ON?? WHATS HAPPENING?? WHAT IS THIS????".
I had bought a Jet boat voucher for 2. They give you a big bunch of waterproof gear, life jackets, strap you in a boat and then starts speeding across the harbour at 80km/hr whilst doing 360 turns and leaping over waves etc. BUT.....there's always a BUT. There was a little hiccup. I had booked this tour thing in Manly over a month ago. Using the ever helpful rain forecast on SMH, I was positive the date I booked the tour for was sunny. I've check the weather once a day, and as the days go by, the chances of rain happening on Saturday kept getting higher and higher and therefore canceling the whole thing. I eventually got to the stage where I was checking the weather 3-4 times a day. But Mother Nature was on our side, the weather cleared up and it was a glorious 28 degrees. However, a few days ago, I got a call from the jet boat company basically telling me the tour is canceled this weekend. Not because of weather, but because THE BOAT BROKE DOWN! I swear what is it with us and boats? How is it possible for him to JINX and break a boat without even trying??????
So the plan B of the day was to get totally tanked. Oh, did I forget to mention that I was carrying a pack of cowboy shots in my handbag, and that we were having shots at 11am in the morning before we got onto the ferry? So once we got off the ferry, we quickly searched for a restaurant so we could get some food in us before it was time for the 2nd shot of cowboys.

Yes its his birthday, buts its not always about him. I think after all my stress and organising, I should be allowed to shop! So we hit the Manly Markets where I pick up a ring and 2 necklaces.

Didn't take us long to finish that.....and by about 3:30 we were on the streets again exploring the streets......

Dark Chocolate Mocha
Anyway, we get off the bus, and walk towards the restaurant. Before we walked in, we had to stop and pull out the video camera. I basically told Moishii that the owner at the restaurant is absolutely insane. If you go in, he'll grab whoever is at reception and make you dance the Zorba with him. Crazy Greek guy basically. So I had the video camera in my hand, turned on to film A Current Affair Style. Moishii walks in and tells them we've got a reservation. I walk behind him with the camera in my hand. As we walk around the corner, suddenly there was a huge "SURPRISE!!!!!!!!!!!" followed by a Kabillion poppers and manic laughter. This is when Moishii turns around and screams "FUCK!! I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!!" and tries to run out of the restaurant. Thats right, I had organised a Surprise Birthday Party for Moishii. And its the first time that its actually a SURPRISE!!! See? Thats how a Surprise Party should really be organised. You do NOT tell people that you're chucking them a surprise party and that they need to act surprised when they rock up!!
The whole story of the crazy owner was a lie. It was to get the camera off him without him suspecting. All the alcohol we consumed was partly to get him tanked so he wouldn't catch of to what was happening. I had wrapped the presents and purchased a whole heap of props and poppers and passed them to Christine during my dinner party so she could bring them all on the night. After alot of confusion and flash lights going off like it was the paparazzi from hell, we finally got seated. This is when I pointed out to Moishii that there was something on the wall.......

HEHEHEHEHE I had photochopped a number of photos, passed them on to Christine so she could print them out and arrive early at the restaurant to stick them up!!!

And we continued Moishii's tradition that we always dress up the birthday girl. This was no exception! By the time we had him all dressed up, all he wanted to do was have more alcohol. So we ordered a bottle of wine imported from Greece just for Moishii. In the meantime, it was present time!!

The portions were huge and we really struggled to get through most of it between me and Moishii. We had to enlist the help of others and managed to make a decent dent in the food.

"GUS!!! PUT YOUR HANDS WHERE I CAN SEE THEM!!"What the hell? How on earth do you stuff up the printing?? There is ONE BUTTON on the machine. All you had to do was press the ONE BUTTON and you still stuffed it up!! Like OMG!!! YOU BROKE THE BOAT!!!
We quickly race up and order ourselves some drinks:

As we're sitting and enjoying our drinks, some guy walks to the piano situated next to us to try and play it. There was some electronic thing that was stuck to it, and I made a comment earlier that it could just play music and the guy probably sits behind the piano pretending to play. We were trying to work out how the thing works when the guy plonks down on the seat. He starts pressing buttons randomly and managed to get a song to play for 5 seconds and then stop. Then suddenly Christine decided to throw some advice into the confusion and she screams at the guy that "YOU PROBABLY NEED TO INSERT SOMETHING!". There was an awkward silence followed by fits of laughter. Suddenly me and Moishii offered Christine up to perform. We told everyone in the bar area that Christine will sing a Delta Goodrem song whilst lying across the top of the piano. We managed to get everyone to cheer her on and clap. Not that that would get her up to perform. We were so disappointed. So disappointed in fact, that I needed another drink:
The night ended quickly after 11pm. We were just too knackered and Christine didn't want to sing. The people even cheered her on as we left! We told them that Christine will be performing at 8pm next Saturday and that we'll see them again! HAHAHAHA
As we were going home, as a final event to celebrate Moishii's party, we had a big "CHRISTINEEEEEEEE" screaming session in Christine's car. Even Cookies joined in eventually!
