Performance #2

The very first post I made on this blog was after my first belly dancing performance. I can't believe the year has passed so quickly. Yesterday was my Belly Dancing Christmas Show. Yes...CHRISTMAS Show....anyhoo, I had a blast during the performance. Backstage I was sweating and pacing around the dressing room. So I decided to warm up to calm my nerves, only to get a foot cramp! That happened once when I was performing for my class mates. I danced the entire dance with a foot cramp. Thinking that I'm going to get a cramp during my performance made me even more nervous!! Plus the 2 mofo large spiders the size of my palm hanging right outside our change room didn't help! But it was my turn, I went out and did my stuff and it was the most exhilerating moment ever! It felt so good to actually go do something like that. The adrenaline rush was awesome!! AHaHaAhaha Actually haven't felt that way for awhile. (Thats what happens when you have a "stable" life and stop stalking people.)

The high didn't last long because I had to quickly change into my next costume for my second dance. All my nerves were gone and I could go out and enjoy my performance. I remember at the end of my second dance, I could see my parents in the audience clapping. This is the first performance my parents have been to. (This is the first performance I've told them about :P ) But I am glad that they came. Along with all the friends I had there to support me. It was great to see the results of my classes for the past year and a half. Now I just have to have the courage to watch the video tapes of yesterday.....(I haven't seen the video of my performance from 6months ago). Once again, thanks to everyone who showed up to support me. Those who didn't show up, YOU SUCK. To make up for it, you should all donate money to the charity as a sign of remorse! :P

I'm going to get photos developed and post them up *soon*. We are actually planning on going to the Westmead childrens hospital and do the performance. Hopefully that will happen soon before I forget my dance :D

Btw, I swear I heard mey scream "THAT WAS F*CKIN AWESOME" when my first dance ended!

The little things....

I was catching the bus the other day from the city back to broadway. 2 old ladies got onto the bus and was sitting at the front. One of the old ladies started coughing really bad and sounded like she was having problems breathing because she was coughing so bad. This went on for a few minutes when this young girl who was sitting behind the woman, tapped her on the shoulder and offered her some water. How often are we too busy with our lives to care about other people? More often then not, when we're travelling to and from work, all we think about is ourselves. No you don't want to make eye contact with a stranger, nor do you want to strike up a conversation with the person sitting next to you because that is improper. We should all keep to ourselves and mind out own business. Thats the way life is. But to see that girl make such a simple gesture proves that not everyone is like that. Not everyone is so engrossed with their own lives that they don't care about others. I thought the girl was pretty when she first got on the bus. But after seeing her simple gesture, she was stunningly beautiful...

kids now days........

Went shopping with my nephews the other week. Its getting close to their birthdays so i took all 3 of my nephew shopping. They were supposed to meet me at the shops after their school "concert" thing. I got a call from my sister saying "The kids have picked out their birthday pressies, come and pay"

o_O

Ok.....so i walked to the shops and my oldest nephew comes running up to me

Him: I've chosen my present! Lets go pay now! *Starts to drag me towards the cash register*
Me: Wait! Show me what you want me to buy first!
Him: Its this toy... *flashes the toy quickly*
Me: Ok...how much is it?
Him: errrr.....30-ish.....
Me: High 30-ish or low 30-ish...
Him: errr.....high 30-ish..... But its 20% off all toys today!!!
Me: is it 30-ish BEFORE or AFTER the 20% discount?
Him: errrrrr...after?
Me: Fine.....i'll buy it
Him: Oh wait!! This needs batteries!! I'll go grab some
My nephew then runs off and brings back a pack of 20 batteries.....somehow I feel i got jipped...
-_-"

Anyway......yesterday my nephew came up to me and went "You know......Its almost Christmas time....."

Looks like i'm going to broke this year.........

Strange hangover.....

My fone has a function that allows me to set my alarm to go off once, or go off daily. I have my alarm going off at 7:15am everyday even weekends cos i'm too lazy to change it. This morning, the alarm went off and I did my usual "hit the snooze button and go back to sleep" mode. Suddenly i realised it was 7:15am. I went SHIT@#^%#$^#!^ I need to be at work at 7am!!! No one from work has called me cos they are all locked out@#%#$^% I jumped out of bed, started throwing my clothes on and then i went o_O

.....

Yes.....its a sunday...I went back to bed...

My reward!

HMMMMMMM..........the other week i stayed back after work to do some quick testing for one of our clients who shall remain unnamed. This client basically produces cereal and they had a CD for us to test. I tested, they were happy. Today i received a mega huge box delivered to my work addressed to me. Thinking that it was a bomb, my first instinct was to open the box only to be faced with 12 family sizes boxes of cereal........i was seriously disappointed. The least they could've done was send me cereal that was pumped full of sugar. No......i got the sugar free type.....Currently there is a big sign on my desk at work "FREE - Please take one". I think i'm going to throw up at the sight of cereal........

Freaks.....

I got a weird call last night. I’ve been busy with work so I decided to sleep early-ish, around 11pm. 12:30am I got a call on my other mobile. Being half asleep, I thought it was my normal optus phone and answered it. I don’t really remember the first part of the conversation but all of a sudden I realized I was talking to some guy who was whispering down the phone. Only then did I realize I was talking on my Vodafone phone where only a handful of people had the number. I thought it was Dave playing a prank on me. But turns out it was some FREAK who started whispering to me “I miss you, can I come?”. WTF?! He insisted he knew me, I knew it was a wrong number, told him so whilst he kept whispering to me and then hung up on him. 15seconds later the freak calls again. This time I find out he’s called “James” and he misses me and he wants to come. O_o I’m not reading too much into that….but I told him off…..hung up and turned my phone off. Freaks.

Sealed....

I have signed away my life....

Yes I know I'm lazy......

It has been awhile since i've updated my blog. I've been busy with work and a heap of other stuff that keeps popping up. Finally "went" to a belly dancing class after about 6 weeks. I didn't even do the class. I just rocked up at the end to talk to my teacher cos i was late from work. I just realised its less than 2 months til my performance and i havent even started choreographing my dance. Talk about screwed......but its ok. I've chosen the shortest song i could find :D AHahaHaHA Lets just hope I have time to practice. Work is getting busier and it is partly my doing. I've been taking on alot more projects from a lot of different other areas simply because i'm getting a bit sick of the simple basic work i do (I'm actually getting bored at not using my brain) and also because i want more pay. More knowledge and more experience comes with more pay. I'm finally getting my god damn permanent contract after taking forever. It took me a month to negotiate my contract.......Feels like i'm signing away my life. For the next few years anyway.

On another note......i went shopping the other day. Yes shopping is not a big deal. But for me it is. I havent had a proper "shopping" day for months. Generally the most i get to do is quickly run around the local shops in my area for an hour or so after work on thursdays and thats it. But on the weekend i actually spent 3-4 hours shopping. And theres just a few things i've noticed.

1. People need to start waxing their bum cracks. I went into so many stores to try and look for jeans and everytime i take one off the rack, i have one quick look at it and put it back without even bother trying it. Why? Because the jeans are getting ridiculously low. Yes hipsters are nice. But the latest trend is basically to make the jeans so low ur bum cracks show. Not a good look. I don't know why some people bother to follow whatever fashion is out. Yes its fashionable. Doesn't mean it looks good. If you need to wax/shave ur ass, then your stupid for buying it in the first place. Why subject urself to that type of torture?

2. There are some people who are just so self centered. I was lining up at grace bros to buy a belt. I lined up behind these two chicks and one of them just would not shut up about herself. Because the line was huge, i got most of the conversation which revolved around her. Her and her gym/diet/weight etc etc etc. Yes theres nothing wrong talking about it and its a very common topic. But when your friend is basically rolling her eyes when you start talking about and tune out, only to throw in a "uhuh" every now and then, that means its time to shutup.

3. dstore sells my buffy dvds at half the price of the RRP in all the stores i went into.......i feel so jipped. I'm gonna refund all my buffy dvds and get them off dstore...even though 6months have passed since i bought them......

The Kids

My Sister was in Sydney last week visiting from singapore with the kids as well as my brother and sister in law. I've basically been off the net for the past week simply because they were here for one week only, and with work and overtime, that only leaves me a few days to spend with them. I think my sister has done a magnificent job on her kids. They are some of the most well behaved and smart kids I know. My sister has never ever hit them. Not even slapped them on the hand for misbehaving. Yet they are so well behaved! Its so rare to see kids that you can reason with, without having to lie or make up stories. You can tell them the truth and they will accept it and not throw a tantrum (Most of the time anyway). I think what amazes me is their maturity and understanding even when they are so young (5 and 3). I remember when my nephew was 3 years old and we were watching Godzilla. He was scared of the movie until his dad turned to him and said "This is only a movie. It's not real." After that, he was no longer scared. How many kids can grasp the concept of fantasy and reality? I know heaps of kids who are still scared of "monsters" that their parents make up to scare them. "Go to bed or the monster will come and catch you" etc. Yet with them, we never had to make up those stories. We simple said "Go to bed. Or do you want me to be angry?". I reckon my sister has done a wonderful job on the kids. Hopefully I can be a good parent like that one day, IF i decide to become a mother.

My Sister bought me a book when she came over. Its very similar to a bible, but it takes excerpts from the bible and they add in more motivational stuff. I was lying in bed this morning and I saw the book next to me. I suddenly remembered a story I've heard quite a few times.

A man was walking along the beach when he turned around and saw a set of footprints that represented every stage of his life. Next to his set of footprints was another set of footprints which belonged to God. However, he noticed that there was only one set of footprints when he was going through the toughest time of his life. The man then went to ask God why was his set of footprints missing through the toughest time of his life? Why did God abandon him when he needed his help the most? God replied "There is only one set of footprints because when you were going through the tough times, I was carrying you".

Although I'm not the most religious person in the world, I love that story. And it saddens me to think that, unlike God in the story, I cannot be there by my nephew and nieces side when they are going through a tough time. I see them once a year for a week or two at most and I must wait another year before I get to see them. I know I cherished every minute I spent with them this week because I knew I didn't have much time to play with them. I used every opportunity to tell them that I love them very much. Hoping, wishing that they won't forget me when they go back to Singapore. Hoping that when they grow up, they will remember that they have an Aunty that loves them very much and will be there for them.

I have been so busy at work the past few weeks with all the overtime and weekend work. When the kids came over, I had to choose. Work or Family? Stay back at work to do a fantastic job and get the recognition I deserve and a promotion that I earnt, or go home and spend time with the kids? Luckily, everything seemed to work itself out and I didn't have to make a choice. But I know I will have to make that choice one day. And right now, I don't know what I will choose. Lets just hope that whatever I do end up choosing, I won't regret one day.

Late Thank You

My Birthday

I know its almost half a week since Saturday, but i had an awesome time! The whole drunkeness thing really helped with the stress of work and other crap! AHeaheaHEa I was so happy that so many of my friends were there!

Oishii: My birthday wouldn't be the same without you causing trouble and advertising christine and acting as a pimp! Of course you kept up the tradition of being late and making me late for my party again! Thank you!! (Even though i'm not important to you)

Christine: If you werent there, chances are i would've gotten advertised by Enver. But that doesn't bother me too much cos the chances are i would've grabbed the camera off the guy and shoved it where the sun don't shine

Mey & Vics: My two drinking partners!!! Well Vics is my hardcore drinking partner and mey is getting trained by the both of us! Btw, vics is really evil with the camera, but then i realised it was cos of the cake so i forgive u!! *^_^*

Dave: I'm so glad u made it!!!!! Actually, i'm glad both you and your brother Minh made it!!! AHEaHEa

Chao: I'm surprised you even came!! i thought you woulda been sick of me from work!!! AHeaHEa Atleast you didn't fall asleep after the 2534543232 scripts i made you do!

The Boons: Like i said, the "boobs" makes the night more interesting. I don't think anyones gonna let me forget that typo for a very long time. But thank you guys for coming! Particularly Yui. I needed someone to screw me over on my birthday. Happens every year, and this year it was you.

Alan & gus: You guys were late!! But i forgive you cos you still came!!! *HuggLes*

Jono & Linda: AheAHEAHEAH I was so surprised when i saw you guys!!! I didnt think either of you were coming! Especially you linda! you were supposed to be skiing!!!

Work

On another note, Work has been a bitch. I've been working for 2 weekends plus filming, plus trying to spend time with my nephews and niece etc and a whole bunch of other stuff. I knew that my job came with more responsibility, but i didn't expect this much commitment this soon. But then I'm surprised i've been able to handle it. I was freaking myself out when i found out i was to start managing the projects etc, but i just realised today that that was the old me. I noticed in the past week i've become alot more forceful and less afraid of the client. I'm not so worried about "Oh what if i say something wrong?" factor anymore. Or maybe i'm just getting really shitty about the amount of work and the incompetence of some people. Either way, i need a holiday. I havent had a single day off work since Easter. Not even a sick day. Regardless i'm taking friday off to spend time with the kids. Its not my fault the project is rooted. I understand that now. Its not me, its them. I know this as a fact.

The next step

I'm scared...tomorrow i officially take over the project from my workmate. If i screw up, i'm gone. If i don't...well, heres to the next step. Wish me luck. I shall rule the world.

Filming update

Filming was awesome this weekend. The movie is coming along great. I can't wait to edit the movie! Hopefully i can watch some of the footage this weekend just incase we need to refilm everything. Lighting has been a real problem for us. Well, power in general. We need more batteries and more light! I'm getting really agro about it as well with some of the new crew cos they play with the torches and stuff. I'm probably a bitch on set but i try and make up for it once i realise i've been a bitch. I'm starting to get freaked out about the movie too just like Oishii. He's spent so much time and money on the film i think he's crazy. But its great to see someone so passionate about something. To want to dedicate so much time and money into something they love is amazing (Or crazy). I hope the film goes really well and i will kill anyone who tries to screw the movie up. (aka gothic bitch - I WILL have my revenge. Just you wait.) I guess since i've spent my last few weekends filming that i'm starting to get passionate about the movie as well. Its like my baby. Ok, not my baby, my adopted baby AHEaHEahe Be prepare for the red carpet premier! Coming to a cinema near you soon (Or the closest tv screen)

One of those days......

Its not a bad day i guess...but its just one of those days where alot of things become clear.

1. I finally realised why i love my job so much. Its cos i hate programming. Me testing programs is kind of my way of revenge on programming. My chance to rip it apart. Thats probably why i am quite "passionate" about testing. Its cos i hate programming with a passion.

2. I fully understand why people discriminate against asians. Its not all asians, but its usually the minority group that gives the rest a bad name. My dad dropping my sister off on this one lane one way street. We started driving out of the street when some farked up FOB asian guy decides to drive his truck the wrong way down the street. I got out of the car and told him in english and in chinese that its a one way street. I even said "you can only drive in one direction on this street". The guy and his daughter and son (??) decided to ignore me and went "yeh yeh" and kept edging forward. By this time there was 3 cars trying to get out of the street. (there was angled parking and the guy was blocking 2 of the cars from moving. This went on for about 5 mins when my dad just gave up and decided to park onto the footpath and let the dickprick pass. That really shits me cos the guy obviously thinks hes still in china and can do wotever he wants. He didnt care he was in the wrong. He didnt care that there were 4 cars plus the neighbours on the street all out yelling at him to go the other way. He was in china as far as he cared and he was going to do wotever he wants. Its fuckin people like him that give other people an excuse to discriminate against us. And i fully understand and agree with them. :T

3. I can't believe how different i am from my parents. After that incident with the FOB, we went around the block and saw the stupid truck go the opposite direction and i said to my dad i should get his license plate number and call the cops. This started an argument with my parents where they were accusing me of being bad tempered etc etc. Yes i was pissed off. But i believe my actions was because i wanted justice. It was at that point i realise how different our beliefs and values were. My parents have the typical asian thinking. If you see something happen, its better to turn a blind eye to avoid trouble. That is what they believe, that is what they try to teach me. Maybe cos i'm a Libra, but i believe in justice. Yes life is not always fair. But WHEN and IF i can do something about it, i will. I am the opposite to what they believe. If i see someone being wronged, i want to help and not turn my back on them. I guess the way they think is all about self preservation and i understand that. But for me, i can't think the same way as them. I always think "What if that me?". What if i was the one getting attacked, and someone who saw the whole thing decided to turn a blind eye and pretended they didnt see a single thing? What if, because of that person pretending not to see anything, that the guy gets off scot free? What if because of that person not saying anything, that the guy can hurt someone else? I don't want to be that person. I don't want to give the guy a chance to hurt someone again. I know i'll probably get myself into trouble one day. But i would rather take that risk then have a guilty feeling gnawing at my insides because i let that guy get away with something. And in my books, thats as bad as the person committing the crime. That is me. That is who i will always be.

4. There is such a thing as being too depressed to shop.

Exhausted....

I'm tired. I didnt exactly do much on the weekend i guess. Usual alcoholic friday (Which i didnt drink much....i can't believe i cant drink 1L of mango beer anymore) and filming saturday. Filming was really good actually. This is probably the first time we had a "proper" cast. Although i am comparing it to HI...enough said. But then we have made a few other short films in the past year. But this is what i would call "Big production". We auditioned professional actors (people who have done actual work like MTVs, TV shows and theatatrical performances). We even had a make up artist on set as well as professional equipment like the boom! IM EXCITED! *Big kev thumbs up*.

The main difference between filming on saturday and all the other filming i've ever done was that i had to be serious. I mean HELLO? ME? I mean no one is stupid enough to put my name and the word "serious" together in the same sentence. It was weird for me having to be all profo and serious and the other crap. I couldnt do my dodgy *record**giggle**shake the camera from uncontrollable laughter*. I had to use a tripod. I had to "pan" the camera and do tight in shots. I was being technical. I was framing the shots. Like WHAT THE HELL?? What's going on?!?! What happened to my "Film now, script later"? I actually have to follow a script and shot lists etc. Maybe that is why i am sooooooo tired! I have spent 3 years making an ass of myself wen we film. All of a sudden i have to be serious. Must be a shock to the system. Could be the fact that we got screwed by a gothic bitch that's got me all worked up. Actually......come to think of it....i got screwed pretty bad this whole weekend. I don't know whats going on hey. I think everyone must've gotten wind of insaness and they want a spot on the blog.

Anyway, i shall get back to work (preparing for more filming) and stare at the screen....I feel like a machine today..... :T

My future...

I was talking to my bro in japan on the phone the other day. He was asking me how work is blah blah and started talking about my work. Although my company is only a medium sized company, i see potential for me. I told my brother that theres the possibility of me managing alot more larger projects coming up. My aim is to gain as much work experience in project management as i can and eventually move to other industries. Today, talking to my workmate, i found out i will be the new "Project Manager" for one of our large projects. I don't know exactly how "Project Manager" i'm going to be. But definetly something to look forward to for the next month or so. Maybe i'll even get a raise or promotion! :D

Last night i had my belly dancing class and already we are planning for our next performance. Currently the performance is going to be held on the 21st December at a theatre in Marrickville. Apparently theres a proper stage with the concert like inclined rows of seats, a court yard and a bar! The guy is also throwing in a sounds and lighting technician!! Sounds awesome to me!!! Looks like we can get the hall for free too! yay~~~ So right now.....i gotta go through my music and pick a nice drum solo fast beat to dance to. Hopefully Enver can learn how to play properly so he can play and i can dance. Although he must go through my teacher for approval before he is allowed to play though! AheaHEAHEa But god danmit...theres gonna be alot of jiggling.. ~>_<~

awwwwwww

Was just talking to a friend and the top of my nephews and neice came up. I remember i talked to my neice the other night. Since i'm rarely home, I don't speak to her on the phone alot. The other night when i was talking to her, i didnt reognise her. She was talking so much i had her confused with my nephew (I know your asking how can i confuse them. But if u've ever heard them singing, u'll know they sound identical). It was then that i realised i've missed a big part of her life. Shes starting to grow up and i wasnt there for her. And my youngest nephew? Well i haven't even seen him yet. :T He's already learned to walk and hes gonna start talking before i even meet him. Now that is sad.

To cheer myself up, i thought back to the conversation i had with my neice:

Me: Hello! is this jessica?
J: its jessica!
Me: What are you doing jessica?
J: Marmeeee buy meee Harlo kitty *mumbles*
Me: You're mummy bought u a hello kitty doll?
J: NooOoOoOoo Marmee buy me harlo *mumble**Mumble*
Me (giving up on hello kitty): Are you eating jessica?
J: Eatiiiingggggg
Me: What are you eating?
J: MarMeeeeeeeee buy *mumble**Mumble**sound of chewing food*
Me: Huh?
J: *Frustrated* MarMeee buy Harlo *Mumble* Cake!
Me: You're mummy bought u hello kitty cake?
J: *giggles**Chewing sound**Drops the fone and runs off to eat more*

God shes so cute *^_^*

My plans.....

Some of you may or may not know that i'm about to help my friend start filming a new movie. I spent the weekend with my friend driving from one side of sydney out to another whoop whoop side and then to some unknown place i cannot pronounce looking for film locations. I'm actually quite excited about the film this time as it seems more..."professional". But then i *am* comparing it to the previous movie that we made. To that, i have no comment. But this time, we have conducted auditions and found people that can actually ACT. And the most surprising thing? This time we have a SCRIPT as well! *ShoCk**HoRRoR* But its all good. I've been busy making props for the movie and doing some research as well. So if most people don't see me within the next couple of weeks, chances are, I am:

a) Studying (MAUahAUAhaUAhaa!$#@$@# HAHAHAAAHahAha!$!@$)
b) Helping make the movie
c) kidnapped by a bunch of cute snowboarders

I'm also going to keep myself busy by learning the zils (finger cymbals) and try and belly dance at the same time. Sounds easy for most people, but since i am seriously uncoordinated, it will take me a while.

So don't think i am snobbing you guys. I've just had a VERY INCONSIDERATE A**h*** book my entire weekend for the next few weeks to film. You know who you are. You owe me $60. And new shoes.

Btw, i drank less than 1L of mango beer on friday. Something is wrong with me. Maybe i am sick and i need to see a doctor. But then i've always been sick. Time to go see my shrink again :D

I've been told....

An incident happened thursday night when we were going to watch American Pie 3 at burwood. We came out of the cafe we had dinner and was walking towards Westfield when a dickface decided to shove Mey outta the way. Physically shove her out of his way so he can walk by. consequently, i decided to yell really loud "DID THAT GUY JUST SHOVE YOU? HOW RUDE! CAN'T BELIEVE WHAT AN ASSHOLE HE IS!!" so that people turned around and stared at me/him. I was actually really tempted to run up to him and make him apologise for being a total asshole. But since there was so many people on the street, i couldn't chase.

I later told this story to a friend of mine who commented that i should watch my temper incase the guy had turned around and deck me in the face. This got us talking. I didn't see my actions as being "bad tempered" in a sense. I guess for me, i hate seeing anyone get pushed around or bullied for no reason. And that shits me. And when it shits me, i gotta do something about it. My friend reckoned i should have kept quiet instead of yelling like that. But then for me, i don't believe in keeping quiet. Alot of people who know me also know i am a complete bitch and know not to mess with me. I'm known to really put up a fight. If i believe i have been wronged, i will stand up for myself. I am rarely afraid to speak what i think simply because i don't see the point of lying by agreeing with something i don't believe in. That is who i am. And that is who i will continue to be. Some people call it being bitchy and opinionated. For me, i call it being assertive. I am sick and tired of seeing people take advantage of the weak, the timid or someone who is simply nice.

Saying this to my friend, an hypothetical question was posed to me. If my boyfriend asks me to change my personality, i.e. my "temper", would i change? My answer? Probably no. That is who i am. I am a bitch/assertive. I believe in standing up for what i believe in. I don't believe in people taking advantage of other people. That is my belief and that is who i am. I know i may sound stubborn, but i see it as asking me to change a big part of my personality. I do believe that a relationship is about compromise. And i do believe people change. But for me, that is not something i will or can change. If i do change, i will not be because my boyfriend has asked me to. In fact, i will hope that that is a part of me that he is attracted to. If he cannot accept that part of me, then i don't think he really knows me and loves me for who i am. Simply put, like it or lump it.

Yes i am sounding like a bitch. And hell, even i know i am sounding stubborn. But that is who i am. Its like asking me to stop doing/saying crazy things. Asking me to change that side of me is asking me to be someone i'm not. If you're talking about smoking/drinking/gambling then yes, i believe that is something that can easily change. Asking your other half to give that up isnt a big deal. Asking them to stop being who they are and stop standing up for what they believe in is wrong. If you are asking them to do that, then you don't love that person for who they are.

This discussion went on for awhile with my friend. Eventually, a thought occurred to me. Maybe its my assertive side that scares off half the guys i meet. I know some guys are intimidated by my strong and loud personality. But then i guess its the survival of the fittest. If they can stand me after going thru all the crap i throw at them, then maybe they are the right person for me. If they cannot handle my personality, then we werent meant for each other. I came to realise that my personality and my scaring off guys isnt a disadvantage. Its more of my way of eliminating people who aren't suited for me. If they don't like a girl who speaks their mind, then i am the wrong person for them. I am not the passive type girl they can push around. I guess don't see how me being assertive is a disadvantage or a "bad" personality trait of mines. I am proud of who i am. I am proud that i am able to stick up for myself when i need to. I am happy to know that when push comes to shove, i'm not going to back away from something i truely believe in. With that in mind, i know i am capable of taking care of myself to some extent. Some people may not like that, but that is who i am. And that is who i will continue to be. Like it or lump it.

I AM FINISHED@#%$!@#$^#$&^#@$%!%$@!*%!_^%@&^

OMG!! I am sooooooo happy!! Just talked to the lecturer and she gave me an exemption for the subject i am taking! That means, I'M FINISHED!!! DONE! FINITO! KAPUT! NO MORE UNI!!!!! MAUahaUahAUahaUahaUAhaUAhaUaha AHeaHeaHEaHEahe OMG! *^_^* Now that i'm finished, i can enrol into my next course @_@ Or maybe not! AHeaheahea The course i wanna do is Masters of Business and IT Management. But that requires 5 years work experience and I only have 1 year of relevent work experience. Maybe i wont get to study next year at all which wouldnt be too bad. Since i've been studying every year since i was in preschool. :T But even if i'm not enrolled in uni next year, I'll still have to do more training for work etc etc. But i don't mind too much since my company is paying for it and i can get industry certification :D I won't inform the uni that i want to graduate this year yet. I'll wait til i enrol next year, get my travel concession card and then i drop it :D No more union fees too!! YAY!!

It was my IT Manager's last day today. Too bad I had to go to uni otherwise i woulda gone for drinks with him after work. Not too bad though cos i'll see him at Lowenbrau. He's the one who intro me to the place. If i am an alcoholic, i blame him. :D And prolly vics since shes always willing to scull with me :D I miss cookies... :( Anyway, i might go watch charlies angels 2 now. Some of Cameron's butt should cheer me up :D

I miss cookies...

Came home last night and automatically turned on my comp. Usually i just check my IRC and ICQ for any msgs left during the day. Last night i decided to check the smh as well. Once the page loaded up, the first thing i saw was the bombing in Indonesia. I just froze in my seat. Most of the night i was hoping cookies would come online from a netcafe which was far far away from the bombing and just pop into irc to tell us shes fine. I smsed her mobile although i kinda knew she didnt have her phone with her. But i msged it anyway incase she did end up bringing the phone with her overseas. Later in the night as i kept checking the smh website for more updates, i noticed there was a Hotline to the department of foreign affairs and travel(?? I think thats what DFAT stands for). Anyway i called up the number hoping to badger the person on the other end for more information but all the lines were tied up. As i as waiting on the phone for someone to answer, my mobile went off with a msg that said "Hi, she's fine". The msg came from cookies mobile. *Phew* I assume she must've called home and someone heard her mobile go off. I'm just glad shes ok. I can't wait for vics to come back. COME BACK SOON COOKIES!!!!

On another note, Belly dancing was good last night. I finally started learning the zils (Finger cymbals) and the cane! The cane is much easier to learn than the zils. I don't think i'm coordinated enough to play them and dance at the same time. Gonna buy a pair on the weekend so i can practise at home. Meanwhile, i got a blister on my hand from practising the cane too much. :T But its great fun and i would love to perform with it one day. Although i think i better fix the end of the stick cos cut the end off and therefor ruining the "tape" on the cane. And when you swing the cane around, it kinda starts...."slipping" out of your hand. Lets just say, some people were very lucky last night to avoid decapitation from me. AND COME BACK SOON CLOOKIES!!!!! ~>_<~

In my endless ranting and raving, i forgot to say, Habibs has KICK ASS garlic sauce! I'm gonna go there again :D And minty is so cute!!! *^_^*

Before you read on, let me warn you that this will be a long blog....

Most of what i am about to write was sparked by one event. I went yum cha with my family and relos today. We drove our relos home after yum cha and they happen to live across from the house i grew up in. Looking at the house bought back heaps of memories and really got me thinking.

I remember all the good times i've had in that house. How i was so carefree and happy as a kid. I never had to worry about work or grades or money or any of that self image crap that most people go through in their life a few times. I just remember enjoying being a kid. The most i had to worry about was what trick my brother was going to pull on me next. I really miss that carefree feeling i had as a kid. I actaully started to feel quite depressed at this point until i realised this is all about growing up. As a kid, i was free of all burden. But i was inside my own little world. Now, although i have alot more to worry about, i know theres a whole new world out there for me to explore. There are so many different people i want to meet and so many places i would love to go. So many things i never realised or appreciated until now. I was just saying to my friend the other day that i'm really getting converted to a leb/turk/greek person cos i'm starting to appreciate their culture so much more. I think its cos of my belly dancing, i'm learning to understand their culture through music. Well thats where it all started anyway. My sudden fascination in their music and how i can use them for my belly dancing classes. I then started to notice more about their culture, their history and way their of life. It was at this point that i realised there is so much i dont know about the world. There are so many other countries and culture i would love to understand. I would love to travel through europe and the middle east to get up close and into their culture.

A friend of mine went and backpacked through europe and the middle east with some friends and the stories i've heard are amazing. The way people react to foreign blood in their country, their different little customs and the wonderful places you can visit! My belly dancing teacher will be going overseas next year to the middle east for a holiday, and i'm so very tempted to go with her. Either that or if my friend decides to go turkey, i would love to go visit for a week. Although knowing me, i will probably go crazy buying belly dancing things!! Actually, come to think of it, my teacher did tell me it wasnt a good idea if i went turkey cos i wont be able to control my shopping urges :D

The whole time i was thinking of things like that, i was also thinking about how much i appreciate my parents. Or lack of. My parents were always busy when i was kid. The only way for them to raise 4 kids and support my dads parents who were living with us AND send money back to china was for them to work 7 days a week. From 9am to about 11pm-12. Every single day of the week. I have vague memories of spending my time at our restaurant as a kid. Even though it would be really busy at the restaurant, my daddy or mummy will carry me in their arms until i fall asleep whilst trying to work. (Dont worry, they never cooked near our huge ass stove when they were carrying me) I remember i used to love spending time at the restaurant cos that was the only time i would get to see them. Generally i would only see them in the morning and for the rest of the day they would be at work. As a kid, any time i got to spend with them was so precious. But as I got older, the time i got to spend with them wasnt so important anymore. I was suddenly making friends at school, i discovered the wonders of the telephone and i was old enough to start finding things to entertain myself. Having my own hobbies and interests. Spending time with my parents just wasnt so important to me anymore. I guess for me there is a big generation gap problem. My brother who is the second youngest is 8yrs older then me. Most of my brother and sisters were old enough to go out with friends and start dating etc etc and i was the little baby sis who stays home with the grandparents. Maybe i'm finding excuses for why i started to grow apart from my family or maybe i'm just realising alot of things i dont tend to think about alot.

This brings me onto my friends. I really love my friends and i do really appreciate them. But i dont know if they actually know that. I guess since i'm not very close with my family, i really do care alot about my friends. I have had many friends who have been there for me when i've been a total bitch and i dont understand how they could have put up with me. I guess i'm going to take this opportunity to let them know that i love them and i appreciate everything they have done for me. They should know who they are.

Friend #1

You've been there for me since high school and you probably have been through so much of my shit its not funny. Although i dont call you often or see you very often, but when i do, its like we havent spent any time apart. We can continue to joke and argue like we used to. Just know that i wont forget the time we've ever spent together and I've never felt left out even though spend all your time with *him*. You "heavy coloured light friend" (Jong sik hing yow) person! hehehe Jk. I cant be happier for you. Just make sure i'm there on your wedding day!

Friend #2

Gor...thank you. You have always made me feel beautiful and you have taught me to love myself for who i am. You're always there for me no matter what and i really do appreciate all the support you've given me. All the things you have ever taught me i will never forget and will definetly put into use later in life :)

Friend #3

Wow......where to start with you? I've come to realise that its not me and its you. You are utterly insane. I was normal before i meet you. In 3 years...look what you have done to me? But then i wouldnt trade anything for those 3 years of my life. I cant imagine what life would be like without the endless scandals and incidents you cause. And what i said about starting a list? Trust me.....i'm going to record down every single incident that i remember. Your going to pay for screwing up my life :P

I got an email once. It was quite awhile ago and i regret deleting it. But everything it said was so true. It was something along these lines(forgive me if i've told the story wrong):

There are 3 types of friends in your life. Friends for a reason, friends for a season and friends for life.

Friends for a reason is exactly what they are. They come into your life for a reason. Whether they are there to help you through a rough time, help you solve any dilemmas your going through or simply there to cheer you up. Once they have achieved their purpose, they will leave your life. They are your friends for a reason and are easily forgotten.

Friends for a season are there through a particular period of your life. How many of you have ever made the most incredible friends in primary school, high school, uni or even a club you've joined? These friends, although they wont be with you after a "Season", the impact they have will change the course of your life. I guess a good example are your high school friends. Do they encourage you go pursue the career you want? Do they ask you out every single week and ignore the fact that you need/want to study to get into the course you want? Do they help you with all their power to achieve your dreams? Do they convince you that study is not important? Or do they ask you to do things that goes against your conscience? Whatever they do, they are only there for a "Season", but for the period that they are in your life, they will shape who you will become. Although they will eventually leave your life as you enter into another "Season", you will not easily forget them.

Then there are Friends for life. These friends are those who will always be by your side no matter what. No matter what you choose to do with your life and what decisions you make, they will always be there supporting you all the way. They will not leave you. They will not let you forget them. They will always remind you and let you know that they are your friend and will be there for you no matter what. They are your friends for life.

For all those friends for who are here for a reason/season/for life, know that i do appreciate all you have done for me to become who i am today.

I know this has been a very long and sentimetal post. But i've come to appreciate life and i'm trying not to take every day for granted. Things should not be left unsaid and i dont want any regrets in my life.

p.s. for those who think i'm writing a suicidal note of some sort, dont worry, you wont get rid of me so easily. I'm here to try and be a friend for life.

Tired....

*Sigh* i only just got home from work about an hour ago. Had to stay back til about 8pm tonight then go through shit ass traffic to get home. I'm tired.....maybe i'll go into work later tomorrow since i worked about 11 1/2hrs today. :T We had alot of people come into the office today for an interview for our IT Manager position. So far i dont like a single one of them. They all look too blardy uptight. I have a feeling they're gonna be stingy about internet use. Our current IT manager is so awesome! He doesnt really give a shit what we do. He used to set up lan games after work. So on a friday afternoon u see our comps all set up with Quake and beer. He even goes and downloads movie trailers for us to watch at work!! Plus hes utterly insane! Which is probably why i get along with him so well. Would be great if he could stay.......but hes got bigger plans. Too bad mey and enver wont get a chance to know him cos they'll understand why my level of insanity has increased since i started working there......

I'm Excited!!!

Omg i am SOOOO HAPPY!!! Gus just told me hes getting sent out to the clients site to work fulltime for 2 months! I am sooo happy for him!! Although it kinda ruined my plans to infiltrate the company since hes offsite. But hes still a part of my company regardless!! Hmmm......change of plans. Its a good thing hes out at the clients site. Cannot keep all the eggs in one basket. I shall get him to set up the clients site as another headquarter oof some sort! Its all good! I can still take over the world!! MAUAhaUAha Now to just make sure Mey and Enver stays at our main office here with me! AHeAHeAHe I'm Excited *Big Kevs voice*. When i heard the news from Gus i wanted to give him a big hug! But then with the CEO, 2 project managers, my boss and a bunch of potential clients standing behind me....it wasnt a good idea....BUT IM EXCITED!!!! *^_^*

My Life as a belly dancer........

ARgh!! You know....i think its cos i've been in IT so long, i really CBF getting dressed up anymore. Yesterday i had to go see some clients, so obviously i had to get all funky and dressed up acting all profo. It was sooooooo tiring! I guess thats why i enjoy IT so much. Its so carefree and casual! (Today i am in Jeans, tshirt and joggers as usual).i think working in IT has made me more lazy...AheAEHaEa

Anyway, Belly dancing started again last nite. This term is the start of my second year and i'm absolutely loving it! We're going to be doing much more complex things this term onwards and using more props like the canes and the finger cymbals. I would love to learn the finger cymbals but u need to be able to play to music! Since i'm am tone deaf, i dont know how it will work out. I bought a cane on the weekend so atleast i can start learning that. Last nite was the first nite i saw everyone after the performance and we spent most of the class reflecting on it and gossiping. Apparently one of the women who was performing was soooooooo pissed off her face that she forgot most of her dance and "spread her legs and let everything shake Baby!". AHAheaEHaea I must watch the video for that. I was actually quiet disappointed with the second half of the show (Jennifer's class) because i found it quite repetitive. I wasnt sure whether our class dances looked the same or not. I think the comment we got was that when our class danced, we were "free" and we were enjoying ourselves (Musta been the booze) whilst the other class seemed very nervous. (They didnt get any booze cos they arrived late and we downed both bottles by then).

It was a great experience and i really enjoyed discussing the event again with my class because we can be more critical and honest with each other talking about techniques, improvements etc etc. Anyway, we were so into the spirit on things, most of us have already agreed to perform at our Christmas show!! ~>_<~ I dont know what got into me (And no it wasnt booze). Hopefully Mr E will be able to learn the drums by then and he can play whilst i dance! MaUAhaUAhaUAha Ok....its too early in the morning for me to ramble on....i should really stop blogging at work actually....hmmmmmmmm... Neh :D

The Secretary

After xtn's rave on "The Secretary", i decided to watch it and see what the fuss is about. And i do agree with him. Strange as it may sound, but the Secretary is an "artistically made bondage movie". Well it wasnt really about bondage, more like sadomasochism. Before you guys think that its a porno movie (My first reaction), i thought the S&M in the movie only played a minor role to the real storyline of a girl trying to deal with her pain and suffering. And S&M was her way of dealing with it. Good recommendation xtn. Thanks :)

Arnie ROCKS!

WOW! I just got home from watching Terminator 3 and it was AWESOME! I had really lowered my expectations cos it was not directed by James Cameron. But not only did it exceed my "lowered expectation", it definetly met my "pre-lowered expectation"! The Special effects were stunning and the action sequence was mesmerising! Definetly better then the Matrix. I cannot believe it took them 10years to make a sequel to T2. T2 was probably one of the movies that started all the special effects frenzy. After T2 everyone had to live up to the standards they set. T3 was definetly up there. I guess one of the best things about Terminator is not the "special effects" but the lack of. What i mean is, i dont want to watch a movie where the special effects take over the movie. I want to see a movie where u can't tell where the special effects are. A movie where the special effects are so good, you dont concentrate on it. You are memerized by whats going on in the movie and your not distracted by the CG scenes. That is true special effects. Where the line between the real scenes and the CG scenes blur. I guess thats why i didnt like Matrix 2. I remember i spent entire scenes analysing the CG and not the scene itself. I kept thinking "wow.....this looks like a playstation game demo".

I think i'm going to take my daddy to go watch T3 next week when its less packed. That or Charlies Angels...i'll let him choose. Arnie or Lucy Lui...... AHeaHEaHEa

Happy Happy Joy Joy!

AHeAHeAHeHA Yayyyyyy!! Mey got the job! i'm so happy for her! I'm hoping Gus gets the job as well. And enver! It'll be sooooooooo kewls if they all worked with me!! (Well ok..if enver gets the job..we wont do much work...but you get the point) It makes work so much better when you have your friends working there. And so much easier to bitch!!! hehehehe And since i've graduated from uni, i dont see alot of my friends very often. It'll be like uni all over again! i can lunch and coffee with friends! And its good to see that they are kinda in the "IT" industry if it even still exist...

Please please pleaseeeeee!!!

Mey came to my work for an interview today. I hope she gets the job cos it'll be soooooooo cool if she works with me!! I got 2 other friends coming in this week for interviews as well. Hopefully they all get hired!!! We used to have 30 casuals working for us. We're down to about 3 casuals! Would be mad if i could get more friends working in my company. I can take over the place and i am one step closer to world domination! MAUahaUahaUahaA *Evil Laff*

I feel quite lucky to have my current job. I started off as a casual even though i knew jack about testing. But heck, any IT work experience is good experience. Who knew it would lead to a fulltime position. Hopefully my friends would be as lucky as me. The IT industry is so crap right now and its hard to get a job without experience and u cant get experience without a job. Sucks.... Although i am quite happy with my job and i'm not looking for a new job just yet. But thats also what i worry about. Getting too comfortable with what i already have and i lose the motivation to do better....I got a feeling i am so gonna get stuck in a rut..... :T

*SigH* looks like it could be a long week at work.....and the sore throat isnt helping. But i guess all the medication i'm taking is helping the time fly abit. :P

Depressing...

Just finished watching the show "Hitler: Rise of evil". I found it seriously disturbing and depressing. I'm not too sure how historically accurate the show it (About his personal life anyway), but even if it was 75% accurate, i still found it very depressing. It was quite an interesting show to watch although i kept getting distracted by other things whilst watching it. Its hard to understand how someone can become like that. So evil. Did he ever feel guilty for what he did i wonder? But i guess he truely believed what he was doing was right...LEts just hope there is only one Hitler in a lifetime... :T

Update

Was just talking on irc just then and i got reminded of a comment that dave made in his drunken stupor to me on friday. I think hes exact words were

Dave: "Don't you wish you were a guy now?"
Me: "Why?"
Dave: "Cos you will have a tripod instead of holding onto the wall"

Enough said....*removes dave's admin rights to my blogger*

Wotta weekend.....

Wow......what a weekend...not too sure i remember everything though. AJEAHEahea Friday night was spent at Lowenbrau again with a few steins of Mango beer (2Litres to be exact). I feel that i am becoming an alcoholic and my liver is screaming NoOooOOoo. Although...this is my second week of drinking. AHeAHEaE I was fun though. I saw so many people on friday night inlcuding friends i havent seen for a few years who just happened to be there. Although i'm pretty sure i made an ass of myself infront of them. AHEAHEa I blame enver! Sif try and get me to scull the 2nd litre. But considering the week i had at work, i was suprised i didnt just go for a whole tequila bottle or something. I felt bad for going out friday night considering my boss did ask me to stay back to work another 3-4hrs. But since i had plans, he told me to go out instead. However, my workmate had to stay back to do all the work (He is the project manager though) and he had to go in on saturday and sunday. :T But given a choice between going out and programming.....

After the big night out on friday, i really didnt feel like waking up early. But since i did promise my friend that i will help with the auditions for his next big movie, i had no choice but to drag my ass out of bed. It was quite interesting auditioning people for a movie. I felt like some big hot shot hollywood producer! (my name better be in the credits GDI!). After the auditions, did the usual shopping and coffee before i had to call it a day. Beer really takes it out of u. I spent the rest of the night reading Harry Potter and i finally finished it!!! And the person that dies is........... *blank*. I did kinda expect it to be THAT person...it only made sense to kill that character off. I only wish the stupid newspapers/radios/tvs didnt announce to the whole world that a character will die. I really hate spoilers. I think i spent quite alot of my time trying to figure out where the storyline was heading and who will die. I was soooo looking foward to finding out what happens, but when the book ended, there was such an empty feeling inside me. I hate that feeling....you really want to find out what happens in the end, but you dont want it to end and when it does, you get a very empty feeling inside yourself. I think that was kind of what i was feeling after watching the last episode of Buffy......

(Btw, i noticed i did ramble in this post and i see no point to this post.....But thats what you should expect from me! Randomness)

Computers suck.....

Despite the heading......i doubt i can lead a normal life without a comp now......But anyway.....i've heard alot of people say that computers are like women. You just cant understand them. And when you piss them off, dont expect any response. Which is quite true considering my temper. Actually, slight modification. If you piss me off, u either get no response or i will rip ur head off. (In the nicest possible way of course... *^_^*) Anyway, back onto the subject of comps. My bro-in-law bought second hand laptop without an OS on it. So obviously, me being the only one who has studied computers was called in to fix it. The crappy piece of shiet doesnt display wot key to press into the bios so i couldnt get it to boot from disk. So i tried to ghost the damn thing and it wouldnt work! So i thought.....fine.....be a bitch...So i nuked the HDD and wiped anything that could have possibly made it work. Did a reboot and saw "Invalid system disk. Please replace and press any key to try again". o_O Not a good sign....The worst thing was, my bro-in-law, 3 nephews and my dad was sitting around my comp waiting for me to do something magical to it and give it life. I failed and they left....

Anyway, later in the night, with a help of a fairy, lets call the fairy twinkle J. I found out that the laptop has a completely FARKERED setting that saves options under STUPID headings! UGH. Took me til about midnight to fix the damn thing! Guess it is like a woman......need to spend time with it to get it to work.....

I've spent close to 3 hours today tinkering with more computers and its starting to shit me! One comp wen i try and dialin to a server gives me a busy signal, the other comp dials in perfectly fine but just wont let me access the page i need! Finally got around that and i can access the page but my login is disable!? Like WHAT THE CRAP?! GRRRRRRRR I HATE dialup.....i cant wait for it to be obselete and everyone is on cab0! cab0 ROCKS!

Looks like i'm gonna need a long rest this weekend.......lowenbrau anyone?

arghhhhhhhhhhhhh KILL MEEEEEEEEE

Oh god...the pain of being back on dial-up....after close to 4 years+ on cable...i am back on dial-up. Well at work anyway. Not only is dialup super shit ass slow...but when you gotta do it over a VPN connection AND their server is FARKED, its faster watching a snail race. :T I have decided there is NO WAY IN THE WORLD i will ever go back to dialup...Even ADSL is hard to bare at times...Oh how i take cable to be granted....

It looks like its gonna be a longgggggggggg week for me. They got me programming again. Everyone knows i hate programming....never got it at uni but i didnt really care i guess. I thought i would never get a job as a programmer anyway. Hiding in a cubby hole with a nake light bulb, a computer and a phone to dial for pizza isnt my cup of tea. I was thinking, Wow! So lucky........found a job that has to do with software(IT) and it doesnt involve programming!! But alas...here i am..with a screen full of code infront of me. :T

I guess its not too different from uni....i dont actually have to WRITE the code myself...i just have to modify it (3years of cut/paste/replace word means i am an expert at this). Its still a pain though. Probably due to the fact that i am doing this for work. And at the back of my mind, i'm always worried that my boss is gonna find out i'm a fraud at programming. And once he finds out, i shall be fired. I'm probably being over paranoid i guess. There are plenty of ppl who cant program at my work, so they do other stuff. But for me, i see it as a weakness that will stop me climbing to the top of the corporate ladder and hence stop my evil plans of global domination. I know i should really learn how to program......but i just hate it so much i cant motivate myself to go learn. I see code and i start getting sleepy. Looks like i'm gonna have pretend to know what i am doing...or eventually learn how to code since i have no choice. ARGH! The things i do for money!! Ok i just sounded like a prostitute.....

Anywhoooo...Just random mumbling whilst i wait for the bloody page to load over a FREAKIN DIALUP CONNECTION!@$@#%!@#$^ ARGH!

Welcome to my new blog!!!

Thought its about time i found somewhere to ramble my random thoughts and ideas. Probably a good place to keep a log of all my strange little "incidents" that just occur throughout my life....

Lets start with the weekend shall we?

Friday we went to Lowenbreau for mango beer!! MANGO BEER ROCKS!!! Omg......cant believe me and vics sculled 1L of that stuff!! HAeAHeAH Then we had Butterscotch beer which was inspired by Harry Potters Butter beer...mmmm......butter beer.... *Homer drool* Goddamnit i want more! AHeAHeAHe And NO i'm not an alcoholic.......just a new thing to keep me interested for awhile....although i'm terrified of the whole beer gut thing....

It was quite fun stumbling around the city totally tipsy (ok...drunk) and laughing our heads off. Was quite amusing when vics, in her drunken stupor, knocked a glass over during dinner and smashed it on the table. She then turned to the waitress and went "hehehehehe i think i've have too much to drink" and then walks off to the toilet! AhaheaheAHEa I'm sorry vics....but something that memorable needs to be recorded down somewhere.....

Saturday was quite boring except for my rehersal for sunday which we did at the local park. We picked a quiet end of the park away from the kids and swings to prance around with a veil and all...and then a bunch of 14yo turned up. @_@ They stood under a tree with shock horror staring at us. I knew exactly what they were thinking. "OMG! how embarrassing!? What is wrong with these loonies???" And uno what the weirdest thing is? I didnt care....i'm so old i dont care anymore!!! OMG!!! ~>_<~ I used to be like them and worry about what other ppl think when i make a total ass of myself. I think its all the "training" i've received from enver's "lose ur self-dignity" academy. I just dont give a crap anymore. We kept dancing despite the fact that i know they were standing there with their mouth open and their finger uncontrollably lifting up and pointing at us like we were freaks. But then we were 2 chicks standing on the FOOTPATH waving a veil around with celtic music blaring out of my car. All that was missing was some candles, incense and a bit circle/star drawn on the ground. At the end of our dance, the young `uns decided to:
a. laugh
b. clap
c. wolf whistle

I was quite confused by their reactions. o_O

Anyway, sunday was the big day! After 1 year of belly dancing classes, i finally had something to show for it! I couldnt sleep the night before cos i was quite hyper and also addicted to harry potter. I didnt know whether to pace around the room, keep reading, or just knock myself out with a bottle of vodka. When i woke up all i could feel was a sickening feeling in the bottom of my stomache. I tried to sleep longer so i wouldnt have to be awake and nervous for so long....but ended up getting out of bed. I was so nervous sitting at home, that when i was doing my makeup, i ended up putting eyeshadow on my lips....So i decided to just go early and help set up.

Got there and realised that everyone else had arrived and was busily doing their makeup and gossiping in the changeroom. Actually felt like i was backstage at a broadway musical or something. I was wondering why no one was nervous until i turned around and spotted a bottle of opened champagne. To the left of that was a bottle of half empty vodka...it was all clear..So without pausing, i marched over and poured myself a glass of champagne which i downed in a few seconds. All nerves were gone after that :D

I was so glad to see so many familiar faces in the crowd including gus! the nong left the country without telling me! far out! atleast he made it to my performance. Was funny how i looked out into the audience and i saw 4 ppl sitting in the front row all with cameras up and snapping away merrily. If i didnt see them before hand i wouldnt know they were my friends cos their faces were covered up by the camera! AheaHEaHEa I'm just glad i didnt end up tripping on my skirt or dropping my veil. I had actually sewn finger ring thingies onto the veil so there was NO WAY i could drop it....only prob was i didnt sew it properly and the ring holes started to fall apart! So i had to saw them off with a blunt kitchen knife before i went on stage! But the dance went off without a hitch and i was able to enjoy the rest of the performance as an observer. It was all good *^_^* Apparently there will be another performance i November where my teacher will also perform a song. I wouldnt mind dong it again. This time i might even do a solo.... *GriNZ*

Thats it for now....dont expect such long posts from now on. Dont even expect regular updates cos i'm a slackass.
