Lunchtime sweetness
My phone suddenly went off during lunch. It was a private number. I answered the phone only to hear the sweetest and cutest voice on the other side. It was my neice calling me from Singapore! She was telling me how she can start to have dairy and eggs as of today (She was allergic to it before) and was asking me to buy her ice cream when she comes to visit me! In the background, all I could hear was her younger brother screaming "Yee Yee (Aunty) can Yoooo buy Meeeee some IASSSSS Cweam toooooooo?" *LoL* SO CUTE! We chatting briefly with Mey listening in on the conversation and laughing at their Singlish. My neice ended the call with "Yee Yee, I love you! I'll come visit you soon!" Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww I don't need dessert today *^_^*

Boozed out
My relos from HK came over last week for a holiday. These are the few relos that I truely look forward to seeing. They bring out a totally different side of my parents. They become so much more playful when they are around, even my mum joins in on the pranks we pull on each other. Since they came last friday, this is what we have been doing:
Friday - Seafood dinner + 3 bottles of wine at night
Saturday - Cooked 12 pieces of steak, 15 sausages, 1/2kg of prawns, 1kg of potatoes for 5 adults. Still trying to finish eating them...... + 3 bottles of wine at night
Sunday - Fish Markets for lunch. 4 dozen oysters, 1kg prawns, 1 lobster sashimi, 2 cooked lobsters, 3 cooked crabs, sea urchin roe, seafood platter and seaweed salad. This was followed by Singaporean Chilli crab for dinner..... + 3 bottles of wine at night
Monday - Lowenbrau with Pork knuckle platter and mass amounts of beer. I volunteered (Ok.....I jumped up screaming and waving) my relo for the beer drinking contest. I always had faith in him, but he had 2L by the time he rocked up the stage. He still won the contest by a mile *yay* to the Lo family! - No wine tonight
Tuesday - Seafood dinner at Hurstville with more lobster + 2 bottles of wine at night
Wednesday - Steamboat with more seafood + 3 bottles of wine at night
Thursday - Homemade Pho with 1 bottle of wine
Right now I'm feeling all boozed out. I think I'll have to take a break from alcohol, seafood and meat for the next week or so. Since my sister and the kids will be here in about 2 weeks, I will have to repeat all of the above. Again. For 2 weeks this time.....

The feeling of freedom
Let me briefly describe the last month to you. I worked an average of 50 hrs a week, with no lunch breaks just so I can get home at a decent hour. I started bringing my mobile charger with me to work because I get so many business calls throughout the day, the battery sometimes just won't last. We also printed out about 6-8 reams of document between 4 people. On wednesday at 5pm, I got a call from one of the developers asking if they can bring down the server to do a code drop, I asked for an extra 30mins just so everyone can finish their work off. I quickly ran around and checked where people were up to. This was when I realised, we had actually finished ALL the work there was to do. Finished. Kaput. Finito. I could not stop smiling! I could not believe the feeling of relief I had! I quickly went and grabbed a cardboard box and started filling it up with my belongings and crap. I still had 2 more days to wrap things up but it wasn't about to stop me from packing.
Friday morning I rock up to work to find out the server is dead and I can't finish off my report. I bum around the whole day and ended up running to a different building to get a dump of the data I need. I quickly finish off the report, packed my things, and at 4:30pm, I sent the report off and immediately shutdown my outlook and then my computer. I grabbed my things and bolted out of the office smiling the whole way to my car. Yes. ITS FINISHED! It feels great to have my freedom and a life back! Now only one week to go before I am sent back to CBA for another project..... *Sigh*
Also, a big thank you to all the people who worked with me on the project and for putting up with the crap I deal out. It was very long hours, very chaotic and lots of pressure from all sides, but you guys really pulled through and thank you for your hard work!
