The Jervis Bay Trip

The view from our balcony!

Our house was surrounded by Kookaburras! Damn things kept trying to steal our food. I ended up chasing one across the balcony with a fist full of cutlery!

The echidna we saw whilst walking to Chinamen's beach. You can see his little face if you look closely enough!

Chinamen's Beach

More of chinamens beach. Look how gorgeous the sand and water is!

The waves rolling in at Chinamens beach.

The beautiful sunset at Hyams beach during our after dinner stroll

The sunrise view from our balcony! (Courtesy of Yim getting up at 6am)

The poor little puffer/porcupine fish we saw washed up on the beach

My sand turtle!!!

Our piss poor effort at a sand whale. Looks more like a drumstick.....atleast it was an improvement from the "genital" look we had before.....

The view from the boat as we pull away from the dock for our dolphin cruise. *ahhhhh*

Wide open ocean! How much more relaxing can it be!?

Close ups of the baby dolphin with its mother

Even more close up close ups

I assume thats the father?

The smart way to go fishing......

The view on our way back to Sydney......what a perfect representation of so many things.....

Depressing yet beautiful......

I'm lost for words.....

Quote of the day

"God I haven't hit anything for ages! I CAN'T WAIT!"

Monday, January 10, 2005

Nice start to the week.......

I haven't been in the office for quite awhile and really miss the coffees the local cafe makes. I walked up the nearest cafe around USYD today to get myself a mocha (Coffee with chocolate). I got my coffee and as I was walking back to the office, I took a sip. I almost burned my tongue off so I decided to wait until I get back to the office. I take another sip of my coffee only to find it still quite hot and bitter. So I walk into the kitchen to add sugar to my coffee. I take the lid off and find these black floating things ontop of the coffee. My first thought was "Wow...this guy uses real chocolate pieces". On closer inspection? There was about 8-10 dead baby cockroaches floating in my coffee. Each about the size of a sultana......In my panic and disgust, I pour the whole thing down the sink. Then I realised "EVIDENCE!" I couldn't go make a complaint cos I didn't have the coffee....This could possibly be the most disgusting thing that has ever happened to me. I am SO sending the food inspectors there! This is SO FOUL! >_< God knows what type of a week is instore for me.......

The fostered puppy

For New Years, we fostered a little puppy for a few days. Too bad we had to give him back..he was so cute!!! :(

Happy New Year! Welcome into 2005!

Happy New Year!!! May the coming year bring you more joy and happiness!

Wow......another year has past. I can't believe time flies so fast when you're having fun. So let's have a quick look at what have I done in the past year.....

  • Went to Japan for the first time! Disneyland! I love the place! And I would love to go back! Only I think the chances are slim as my "free accomodation" might be leaving Japan in the near future. Lets just hope they move to some country I haven't been to before! :D
  • I now have a ball and chain called a Mortgage. Luckily, the ball and chain also comes with a theatre! (That is currently out of order :( )
  • I got 2 payrises and a "promotion"
  • I am more confident and more capable in dealing with clients at work. I now tell them to go get f***ed. Well.....almost.
  • My trip to Turkey and Greece which changed my life significantly
So.....what have I got planned for 2005?

  • I want another payrise. I have set a goal to hit the 6-figure salary by 2008.
  • I want to further my education. Whether it is doing my MBA, or Masters in Business and IT, or even a Project Management course. Possibly even just learn to speak Greek, Spanish or Italian.
  • Get back into my Belly Dancing once my teacher returns from Cairns
  • Continue my Boxercise classes. I want to join a few boxing centres in the City to concentrate more on aerobic qualities of Boxing.
  • I want to learn to surf.
  • I will turn a quarter of a century old >_<>
  • I need closure. You know what I mean.
Lets revisit this checklist in 12months time.

Final Recap

Ok.....I know I am still trying to blog about my trip. It's been so long I don't even remember what happened next. Except that there was alot of shopping, alot of food and somewhere inbetween, I managed to fit in a session at a resort/pool place whilst enjoying rostis and pork knuckles. So lets have a quick recap of what happened on my trip.....

  • I got dragged to a porn cinema on my first day in Turkey
  • I've mastered the art of bargaining at the Grand Bazaar and found their weakness in people like me throwing curses on them because I don't get the discount I want
  • We developed a strange obsession about "Christine". Just saying the name will cause us to burst out into uncontrollable laughter with alot of screaming and bomb threats. This also caused us to sit silently together and then suddenly scream out "CHRISTINE!" out of no where for sheer entertainment.
  • Us getting screwed nonstop by the Greek cabbie drivers who pull the fare out of their ass and round up all the prices.
  • We were at the Acropolis but then someone insisted that it wasn't the acropolis despite the fact that the place was swarming with people and then made me climb down the side of the mountain to run to another "Acropolis" only to find out that we were at the wrong place and we were in the right place in the FIRST PLACE! *Deep breath*
  • There is only so much pita rolls and Moussaka you can eat before you feel sick
  • Mykonos has seriously changed our lives. Skandinavian Bar has seriously changed our lives. We will never be the same again after Incident J, F, FG and all the other A, B and Cs in between.
  • Petros!!!
  • Drinks are fugging exxy! Vodka and OJ in a water bottle any day for me thanks!
  • Oil Paintings galore!!!
  • Plenty of naked people at the Mykonos beaches. Beauty and the Beasts.....
  • ME getting screwed over and over again by Moishii. Sif you try to leave without me! Sif you ignore the *signals*! Sif you try to make conversation when we are trying to escape! AND AS IF YOU TRY AND OVERTAKE DURING THE MOST NARROW PART OF THE ROAD! *SMACKS*
  • Exchange Woman
  • $40 Woman
  • Constipated Woman
  • Us getting chased by dogs continously
  • Us getting stranded on the island!!!!!!
  • The 24hr cafe that wasn't 24hrs
  • Me getting the door slammed in my face all the time
  • Us waiting at the airport for 6hrs for our friend. We know the Athens airport very well now.
  • Olympic airways have the cheapest tickets for the flights from HELL!!
  • Our friend losing his luggage. TWICE.
  • Our "panic attacks" for the flight home
Wow.........more has happened on this two week trip than in a year! Of course, plenty more had happened which we are not to talk about unless I get extremely sloshed and you can coax the truth out of me. Chances are, I'll be taking it with me to my grave. :D Turkey and Greece has really opened my eyes! This is probably my first trip that wasn't to Asia. Well...except the asia side of Turkey. But the culture and the people are fascinating! Everything is so vibrant! The trip has certainly changed me. Particularly Mykonos. That has changed all of us. We never appreciated Mykonos for what it was. It is now that we are back in Sydney do we miss that place so much! We have so much unfinished business.....we need closure. We need to go back!!
