Most people find long weekends relaxing and time to get some rest. For me, I'm back at work feeling more tired than ever. I blame it on the fact that my brother is over from Japan. For the past week, I've been sleeping really late after spending most of the night sitting around with my brother and dad drinking and talking. Yes. Drinking. My dad use to lecture me about drinking. How its bad for you, as a girl you shouldnt drink, even at home blah blah. But this week, its gotten to the stage where once my brother gets home, my dad will knock on my door and tell me its time to come out and drink. o_O
Late nights, plus drinking and waking up early is really not the best combination. Even on the weekend, I wake up at 6-7 either to go to the gym or go to the driving range or both. Oh btw, I've taken up golf. Well...not golf golf. Just driving range golf. I think I'll get beaten up by a bunch of 70y.o with their drivers for taking so long on the greens. However, I must say I'm quite proud of my progress. Second time to the driving range and I was hitting about 75-80% of the balls. And by hitting, I mean you hear that clean crisp crack when the club makes contact with the ball. Not the thud you hear when the club hits the ground and then the ball. Too bad I'm only hitting around 50-75m. But then I was only using some of the mid-range clubs. (Meaning you're only supposed to hit medium distance balls). My brother bought my dad golf lessons and a set of golf clubs as well. The only problem is, no one is going with my dad since none of his friends play golf. But the chances are, I'll probably go with him to the driving range around once a week. My nephews are also playing now and they're not too bad.
I remember one time I was in Singapore, we went to the driving range with my sister's family and my brother, sister in law and my dad. My little nephew (3 at that time), had his own set of golf clubs. Not those plastic golf clubs. Proper titanium ones. He even had his own golf bag which he insists on carrying himself to the driving range. As we were walking to our area, you see everyone we walk past stop and look at my nephew and grinning. I must admit, he looked SO CUTE!! He had on his little leather shoes, those 3/4 pants, a polo shirt and cap. He looked like a pro! Only smaller. EHhehehe Think.....bonsai golf player. Not only did he look the part, he could hit! He couldn't hit far, but he had the perfect form. He did his warm up exercises, lined up the ball and club and made his swing. Then you hear the crisp cracking sound and his ball sailing in a straight line. It was quite embarrassing playing next to him. I looked like a farmer trying to loosen the soil in the ground with a golf club. *Hangs head in shame* Must PRACTISE!
The rest of my weekend was spent either shopping, eating or drinking. God damnit! My brother comes back and everyone in the family puts on weight! And you people wonder why we beat each other up. Atleast my brother realised he put on 5kg in the 1 week he was here! MAUahAUha Went to DFO in homebush and liverpool. Bad, bad, BAD idea. I ended up buying 2 pairs of sport shoes, 1 pair of heels, 2 tops, 2 jackets, bags, wallet and mass amounts of jewellery followed by a session of Krispy Kremes. I then spent 7 hours sitting on my ass in the cinemas watching movie marathon with cookies. And guess what? They mixed the movies up again! GOD DAMNIT!! It was supposed to be Harry Potter/Troy/Scooby Doo2. It was actually Troy/Harry Potter/Scooby Doo2. And how do I know it wasn't me getting the order wrong? Because there was no previews for Troy, but there were previews for Harry Potter. Damn incompetent people! Oh and Troy SUCKED. Maybe it was the lack of sleep or the fact that I was sooooooooo looking forward to watching HP3 first, but i truely found the movie sucktacular! The only good thing about it was the costume. Or lack of costume for Pitt, Bana and Bloom. Like OMG get me a towel to wipe my drool!!
Harry Potter was fantastic! Defintely better than the first 2! Although, I was a bit disappointed when they left out bits of the book which would have really helped with the storyline. For me its ok because I've read the book. For those who haven't read it, I don't think they enjoyed the storyline as much as they could have. I would love to see the extended edition, but I'm going to hold out and wait for all 7 movies to come out (If it ever happens) and buy the mega large, extended, digitally remastered, 10th anniversary, special collectors boxed set 30 disc version with collectable figurines.
Now, I sit at my desk with red dry eyes from the lack of sleep feeling more exhausted than before the long weekend. The good news? My brother leaves today meaning I get to sleep early tonight and attempt to catch up on some sleep. The bad news is that I've got training again and probably won't get home before 9:30 meaning I'll miss the last episode of Miriam. I was so looking forward to watching the guys gag and spit at the thought that they made out with a dude. "Why don't you just tape it?" you ask? Because I never watch anything I tape. So it's basically the same as missing it on tv, only I don't waste tape. Ugh. Might walk to get my morning coffee......
