Sculpture by the sea

Despite the horrid weather the entire week, the skies magically cleared up on Saturday for our trip to Sculpture by the Sea. I even packed 2 jackets expecting it to be freezing, but the sun was out in full force meaning I didn't need a jacket at all.

Bondi

I also bought along my 2 new babies. The Sigma 10-20mm wide angle lens and my 50mm f1.4 portrait lens. This is the first time I've taken them out to truly test their potential.

I love my wide angle!

Here are some photos I took using my new lens:

Home of the Bondi man

Now that is a BIG BUTT

Constipated?

These are probably some of my favourite shots from the day. My series of the demolition ants!

We walked all the way back from Tamarama to Bondi for dinner. We were a bit early so we bummed around the beach a bit:

Action Beach Volleyball

Wanted men

Dinner was at Hurricanes at Bondi. I still haven't gotten a hang of using my 50mm at close range, so the shots are really blurry. Plus, I got distracted by the 1/2 a pig and 1/2 a chicken sitting on my plate so I didn't even pay attention to what I was taking photos of.

1/2 BBQ Chicken with ribs in the background

Lamb Ribs

The aftermath

I seriously think I was suffering from meat poisoning after eating my 1/2 rack of pork ribs and 1/2 a BBQ chicken. I didn't even finish the chicken as I was stupid enough to leave the chicken breast til last. After all the ribs and chicken and 1/2kg of chips, I couldn't face putting anymore chicken in my mouth. Next time I'm getting ribs only. I think a full rack of ribs will still be less meat than the combo we got. I'm so glad we parked far away so we could walk some of the meat off afterwards.

Justin Timberlake is bringing sexy back!

Moishii managed to score some great tickets to the Justin Timberlake concert! I was so excited! I had an extremely short lunch on Thursday so I could duck out and grab a train ticket (So I didn't have to line up after work) and leave work early. I hopped onto a train to Auburn where Moishii picks me up and we head off to Hey Hey for a kebab. Everytime we go to Hey Hey, I always get the Hey Hey special without onion. What is a Hey Hey special? It's a chicken and beef kebab with lettuce, tomato, onions, tabouli, cheese, chilli sauce, hummus, tzatziki and garlic sauce. Moishii decided to go Hey Hey special without onion and chilli, which earned him a lecture on destroying his Hey Hey special. After stuffing our faces, we headed off to Acer Arena.

We get there early since Moishii had to pick up tickets for his cousin, but we couldn't go in until she arrived to get the tickets for us. So we sat outside the entrance watching the people streaming piling inside. Meanwhile, Moishii got totally offended when he didn't get randomly surveyed. I, on the other hand, was busy studying the various security guards doing the bag checks. Why should I care? Well, there's a little clause on the ticket that says "No recording or photographic equipment allowed". Not that I ever care since I take my camera with me everywhere. But this time round, I had my DSLR with my MASSIVE lens. This was going to be a delicate operation.

So I've got most of the security guards sussed out when suddenly Moishii's cousin rocks up. Now, a few months ago, Moishii called me up and told me to put her wedding into my calendar. everytime I asked Moishii, the wedding was still happening. Suddenly, one time I asked him, apparently he wasn't invited. The wedding is in 3 weeks and he still hasn't got an invite. Yet he had to run around scrambling to get her tickets! So as Moishii introduces us, I suddenly turned and went "OH! You're the one getting married soon!!". I was SO tempted to turn to Moishii and go "Isn't that the wedding you're going to??". But that would've been as subtle as a sledge hammer.

Since everyone had their tickets, we decided to head on in. This is where I will test my camera smuggling strategy. I had wrapped my DSLR in a black cardi, which was hiding beneath my spare clothes with a bottle of water strategically placed ontop. The minute the guy asked to see my bag, he spotted the bottle and said I will have to throw it. So I'm "juggling" the bottle as he asks to see what was underneath my pile of clothes. I immediately went "Ummm...err... yeah... you don't want to go there.". And he just gives me "the look". So I carefully lifted my clothes to reveal......my strategically placed bra. He took one look at it and went red in the face then he went "oh...ummm.... anything else in the bag I need to know about?". Then I started pulling out my wallet and lip glosses whilst the poor guy is stuttering over his words, so he quickly just waved me in. Oh yeaaaaah! I'm in!

We immediately hit the bar for alcohol since we're early. When we I was sufficiently sloshed, we headed into the stadium for the support act. Honestly, 5mins after Paris Wells came out, I had a headache. Now I know why they don't allow bottles in, because I would've thrown it at her to shut her up. Instead, we ended up walking back out to get away from her.

20mins later, when she finally got off stage, we filed back into the stadium just in time for JT.

The curtain goes up

ITS JT!!

Bustin some moves

A view of the whole stage

Its been awhile since I've been to any concert where the stage was in the centre of the arena. It took us awhile to get used to, because we kept getting confused as to who was JT! It didn't help that he wasn't in a sequined dress with a deep plunging neckline and a split up to his ass like other concerts we've been to. Plus, because the stage was in the centre, there was no where to hang the big plasma screens. That is until the curtains came down again:

The curtains became the tv screen!

I love JT's songs, but I don't know much about him as a person. I didn't even realised that he can play the piano and guitar. He was really really good!

I want their shirts!

The dancers

The fans go nuts!

Singalong

The concert was going splendidly as it was, but it got even better when......

Oh yeahhhhhhh!

This photo is so wrong.....can you see why?

And then there was two

I thought the double act was naughty enough, considering JT does have a lot of young fans. Hell, 3/4 of the people were hormone charged screaming teenagers. The Kylie and Beyonce fans have ALOT to learn from the JT fans. Then JT decided to heat things up:

He almost humped her over!

The concert was fantastic! I didn't get home til after midnight since we didn't want to deal with the crowd, but I loved every minute of it! I can't wait til the next one!
