In my endless ranting and raving, i forgot to say, Habibs has KICK ASS garlic sauce! I'm gonna go there again :D And minty is so cute!!! *^_^*

Before you read on, let me warn you that this will be a long blog....

Most of what i am about to write was sparked by one event. I went yum cha with my family and relos today. We drove our relos home after yum cha and they happen to live across from the house i grew up in. Looking at the house bought back heaps of memories and really got me thinking.

I remember all the good times i've had in that house. How i was so carefree and happy as a kid. I never had to worry about work or grades or money or any of that self image crap that most people go through in their life a few times. I just remember enjoying being a kid. The most i had to worry about was what trick my brother was going to pull on me next. I really miss that carefree feeling i had as a kid. I actaully started to feel quite depressed at this point until i realised this is all about growing up. As a kid, i was free of all burden. But i was inside my own little world. Now, although i have alot more to worry about, i know theres a whole new world out there for me to explore. There are so many different people i want to meet and so many places i would love to go. So many things i never realised or appreciated until now. I was just saying to my friend the other day that i'm really getting converted to a leb/turk/greek person cos i'm starting to appreciate their culture so much more. I think its cos of my belly dancing, i'm learning to understand their culture through music. Well thats where it all started anyway. My sudden fascination in their music and how i can use them for my belly dancing classes. I then started to notice more about their culture, their history and way their of life. It was at this point that i realised there is so much i dont know about the world. There are so many other countries and culture i would love to understand. I would love to travel through europe and the middle east to get up close and into their culture.

A friend of mine went and backpacked through europe and the middle east with some friends and the stories i've heard are amazing. The way people react to foreign blood in their country, their different little customs and the wonderful places you can visit! My belly dancing teacher will be going overseas next year to the middle east for a holiday, and i'm so very tempted to go with her. Either that or if my friend decides to go turkey, i would love to go visit for a week. Although knowing me, i will probably go crazy buying belly dancing things!! Actually, come to think of it, my teacher did tell me it wasnt a good idea if i went turkey cos i wont be able to control my shopping urges :D

The whole time i was thinking of things like that, i was also thinking about how much i appreciate my parents. Or lack of. My parents were always busy when i was kid. The only way for them to raise 4 kids and support my dads parents who were living with us AND send money back to china was for them to work 7 days a week. From 9am to about 11pm-12. Every single day of the week. I have vague memories of spending my time at our restaurant as a kid. Even though it would be really busy at the restaurant, my daddy or mummy will carry me in their arms until i fall asleep whilst trying to work. (Dont worry, they never cooked near our huge ass stove when they were carrying me) I remember i used to love spending time at the restaurant cos that was the only time i would get to see them. Generally i would only see them in the morning and for the rest of the day they would be at work. As a kid, any time i got to spend with them was so precious. But as I got older, the time i got to spend with them wasnt so important anymore. I was suddenly making friends at school, i discovered the wonders of the telephone and i was old enough to start finding things to entertain myself. Having my own hobbies and interests. Spending time with my parents just wasnt so important to me anymore. I guess for me there is a big generation gap problem. My brother who is the second youngest is 8yrs older then me. Most of my brother and sisters were old enough to go out with friends and start dating etc etc and i was the little baby sis who stays home with the grandparents. Maybe i'm finding excuses for why i started to grow apart from my family or maybe i'm just realising alot of things i dont tend to think about alot.

This brings me onto my friends. I really love my friends and i do really appreciate them. But i dont know if they actually know that. I guess since i'm not very close with my family, i really do care alot about my friends. I have had many friends who have been there for me when i've been a total bitch and i dont understand how they could have put up with me. I guess i'm going to take this opportunity to let them know that i love them and i appreciate everything they have done for me. They should know who they are.

Friend #1

You've been there for me since high school and you probably have been through so much of my shit its not funny. Although i dont call you often or see you very often, but when i do, its like we havent spent any time apart. We can continue to joke and argue like we used to. Just know that i wont forget the time we've ever spent together and I've never felt left out even though spend all your time with *him*. You "heavy coloured light friend" (Jong sik hing yow) person! hehehe Jk. I cant be happier for you. Just make sure i'm there on your wedding day!

Friend #2

Gor...thank you. You have always made me feel beautiful and you have taught me to love myself for who i am. You're always there for me no matter what and i really do appreciate all the support you've given me. All the things you have ever taught me i will never forget and will definetly put into use later in life :)

Friend #3

Wow......where to start with you? I've come to realise that its not me and its you. You are utterly insane. I was normal before i meet you. In 3 years...look what you have done to me? But then i wouldnt trade anything for those 3 years of my life. I cant imagine what life would be like without the endless scandals and incidents you cause. And what i said about starting a list? Trust me.....i'm going to record down every single incident that i remember. Your going to pay for screwing up my life :P

I got an email once. It was quite awhile ago and i regret deleting it. But everything it said was so true. It was something along these lines(forgive me if i've told the story wrong):

There are 3 types of friends in your life. Friends for a reason, friends for a season and friends for life.

Friends for a reason is exactly what they are. They come into your life for a reason. Whether they are there to help you through a rough time, help you solve any dilemmas your going through or simply there to cheer you up. Once they have achieved their purpose, they will leave your life. They are your friends for a reason and are easily forgotten.

Friends for a season are there through a particular period of your life. How many of you have ever made the most incredible friends in primary school, high school, uni or even a club you've joined? These friends, although they wont be with you after a "Season", the impact they have will change the course of your life. I guess a good example are your high school friends. Do they encourage you go pursue the career you want? Do they ask you out every single week and ignore the fact that you need/want to study to get into the course you want? Do they help you with all their power to achieve your dreams? Do they convince you that study is not important? Or do they ask you to do things that goes against your conscience? Whatever they do, they are only there for a "Season", but for the period that they are in your life, they will shape who you will become. Although they will eventually leave your life as you enter into another "Season", you will not easily forget them.

Then there are Friends for life. These friends are those who will always be by your side no matter what. No matter what you choose to do with your life and what decisions you make, they will always be there supporting you all the way. They will not leave you. They will not let you forget them. They will always remind you and let you know that they are your friend and will be there for you no matter what. They are your friends for life.

For all those friends for who are here for a reason/season/for life, know that i do appreciate all you have done for me to become who i am today.

I know this has been a very long and sentimetal post. But i've come to appreciate life and i'm trying not to take every day for granted. Things should not be left unsaid and i dont want any regrets in my life.

p.s. for those who think i'm writing a suicidal note of some sort, dont worry, you wont get rid of me so easily. I'm here to try and be a friend for life.

Tired....

*Sigh* i only just got home from work about an hour ago. Had to stay back til about 8pm tonight then go through shit ass traffic to get home. I'm tired.....maybe i'll go into work later tomorrow since i worked about 11 1/2hrs today. :T We had alot of people come into the office today for an interview for our IT Manager position. So far i dont like a single one of them. They all look too blardy uptight. I have a feeling they're gonna be stingy about internet use. Our current IT manager is so awesome! He doesnt really give a shit what we do. He used to set up lan games after work. So on a friday afternoon u see our comps all set up with Quake and beer. He even goes and downloads movie trailers for us to watch at work!! Plus hes utterly insane! Which is probably why i get along with him so well. Would be great if he could stay.......but hes got bigger plans. Too bad mey and enver wont get a chance to know him cos they'll understand why my level of insanity has increased since i started working there......

I'm Excited!!!

Omg i am SOOOO HAPPY!!! Gus just told me hes getting sent out to the clients site to work fulltime for 2 months! I am sooo happy for him!! Although it kinda ruined my plans to infiltrate the company since hes offsite. But hes still a part of my company regardless!! Hmmm......change of plans. Its a good thing hes out at the clients site. Cannot keep all the eggs in one basket. I shall get him to set up the clients site as another headquarter oof some sort! Its all good! I can still take over the world!! MAUAhaUAha Now to just make sure Mey and Enver stays at our main office here with me! AHeAHeAHe I'm Excited *Big Kevs voice*. When i heard the news from Gus i wanted to give him a big hug! But then with the CEO, 2 project managers, my boss and a bunch of potential clients standing behind me....it wasnt a good idea....BUT IM EXCITED!!!! *^_^*

My Life as a belly dancer........

ARgh!! You know....i think its cos i've been in IT so long, i really CBF getting dressed up anymore. Yesterday i had to go see some clients, so obviously i had to get all funky and dressed up acting all profo. It was sooooooo tiring! I guess thats why i enjoy IT so much. Its so carefree and casual! (Today i am in Jeans, tshirt and joggers as usual).i think working in IT has made me more lazy...AheAEHaEa

Anyway, Belly dancing started again last nite. This term is the start of my second year and i'm absolutely loving it! We're going to be doing much more complex things this term onwards and using more props like the canes and the finger cymbals. I would love to learn the finger cymbals but u need to be able to play to music! Since i'm am tone deaf, i dont know how it will work out. I bought a cane on the weekend so atleast i can start learning that. Last nite was the first nite i saw everyone after the performance and we spent most of the class reflecting on it and gossiping. Apparently one of the women who was performing was soooooooo pissed off her face that she forgot most of her dance and "spread her legs and let everything shake Baby!". AHAheaEHaea I must watch the video for that. I was actually quiet disappointed with the second half of the show (Jennifer's class) because i found it quite repetitive. I wasnt sure whether our class dances looked the same or not. I think the comment we got was that when our class danced, we were "free" and we were enjoying ourselves (Musta been the booze) whilst the other class seemed very nervous. (They didnt get any booze cos they arrived late and we downed both bottles by then).

It was a great experience and i really enjoyed discussing the event again with my class because we can be more critical and honest with each other talking about techniques, improvements etc etc. Anyway, we were so into the spirit on things, most of us have already agreed to perform at our Christmas show!! ~>_<~ I dont know what got into me (And no it wasnt booze). Hopefully Mr E will be able to learn the drums by then and he can play whilst i dance! MaUAhaUAhaUAha Ok....its too early in the morning for me to ramble on....i should really stop blogging at work actually....hmmmmmmmm... Neh :D

The Secretary

After xtn's rave on "The Secretary", i decided to watch it and see what the fuss is about. And i do agree with him. Strange as it may sound, but the Secretary is an "artistically made bondage movie". Well it wasnt really about bondage, more like sadomasochism. Before you guys think that its a porno movie (My first reaction), i thought the S&M in the movie only played a minor role to the real storyline of a girl trying to deal with her pain and suffering. And S&M was her way of dealing with it. Good recommendation xtn. Thanks :)

Arnie ROCKS!

WOW! I just got home from watching Terminator 3 and it was AWESOME! I had really lowered my expectations cos it was not directed by James Cameron. But not only did it exceed my "lowered expectation", it definetly met my "pre-lowered expectation"! The Special effects were stunning and the action sequence was mesmerising! Definetly better then the Matrix. I cannot believe it took them 10years to make a sequel to T2. T2 was probably one of the movies that started all the special effects frenzy. After T2 everyone had to live up to the standards they set. T3 was definetly up there. I guess one of the best things about Terminator is not the "special effects" but the lack of. What i mean is, i dont want to watch a movie where the special effects take over the movie. I want to see a movie where u can't tell where the special effects are. A movie where the special effects are so good, you dont concentrate on it. You are memerized by whats going on in the movie and your not distracted by the CG scenes. That is true special effects. Where the line between the real scenes and the CG scenes blur. I guess thats why i didnt like Matrix 2. I remember i spent entire scenes analysing the CG and not the scene itself. I kept thinking "wow.....this looks like a playstation game demo".

I think i'm going to take my daddy to go watch T3 next week when its less packed. That or Charlies Angels...i'll let him choose. Arnie or Lucy Lui...... AHeaHEaHEa

Happy Happy Joy Joy!

AHeAHeAHeHA Yayyyyyy!! Mey got the job! i'm so happy for her! I'm hoping Gus gets the job as well. And enver! It'll be sooooooooo kewls if they all worked with me!! (Well ok..if enver gets the job..we wont do much work...but you get the point) It makes work so much better when you have your friends working there. And so much easier to bitch!!! hehehehe And since i've graduated from uni, i dont see alot of my friends very often. It'll be like uni all over again! i can lunch and coffee with friends! And its good to see that they are kinda in the "IT" industry if it even still exist...

Please please pleaseeeeee!!!

Mey came to my work for an interview today. I hope she gets the job cos it'll be soooooooo cool if she works with me!! I got 2 other friends coming in this week for interviews as well. Hopefully they all get hired!!! We used to have 30 casuals working for us. We're down to about 3 casuals! Would be mad if i could get more friends working in my company. I can take over the place and i am one step closer to world domination! MAUahaUahaUahaA *Evil Laff*

I feel quite lucky to have my current job. I started off as a casual even though i knew jack about testing. But heck, any IT work experience is good experience. Who knew it would lead to a fulltime position. Hopefully my friends would be as lucky as me. The IT industry is so crap right now and its hard to get a job without experience and u cant get experience without a job. Sucks.... Although i am quite happy with my job and i'm not looking for a new job just yet. But thats also what i worry about. Getting too comfortable with what i already have and i lose the motivation to do better....I got a feeling i am so gonna get stuck in a rut..... :T

*SigH* looks like it could be a long week at work.....and the sore throat isnt helping. But i guess all the medication i'm taking is helping the time fly abit. :P

Depressing...

Just finished watching the show "Hitler: Rise of evil". I found it seriously disturbing and depressing. I'm not too sure how historically accurate the show it (About his personal life anyway), but even if it was 75% accurate, i still found it very depressing. It was quite an interesting show to watch although i kept getting distracted by other things whilst watching it. Its hard to understand how someone can become like that. So evil. Did he ever feel guilty for what he did i wonder? But i guess he truely believed what he was doing was right...LEts just hope there is only one Hitler in a lifetime... :T

Update

Was just talking on irc just then and i got reminded of a comment that dave made in his drunken stupor to me on friday. I think hes exact words were

Dave: "Don't you wish you were a guy now?"
Me: "Why?"
Dave: "Cos you will have a tripod instead of holding onto the wall"

Enough said....*removes dave's admin rights to my blogger*

Wotta weekend.....

Wow......what a weekend...not too sure i remember everything though. AJEAHEahea Friday night was spent at Lowenbrau again with a few steins of Mango beer (2Litres to be exact). I feel that i am becoming an alcoholic and my liver is screaming NoOooOOoo. Although...this is my second week of drinking. AHeAHEaE I was fun though. I saw so many people on friday night inlcuding friends i havent seen for a few years who just happened to be there. Although i'm pretty sure i made an ass of myself infront of them. AHEAHEa I blame enver! Sif try and get me to scull the 2nd litre. But considering the week i had at work, i was suprised i didnt just go for a whole tequila bottle or something. I felt bad for going out friday night considering my boss did ask me to stay back to work another 3-4hrs. But since i had plans, he told me to go out instead. However, my workmate had to stay back to do all the work (He is the project manager though) and he had to go in on saturday and sunday. :T But given a choice between going out and programming.....

After the big night out on friday, i really didnt feel like waking up early. But since i did promise my friend that i will help with the auditions for his next big movie, i had no choice but to drag my ass out of bed. It was quite interesting auditioning people for a movie. I felt like some big hot shot hollywood producer! (my name better be in the credits GDI!). After the auditions, did the usual shopping and coffee before i had to call it a day. Beer really takes it out of u. I spent the rest of the night reading Harry Potter and i finally finished it!!! And the person that dies is........... *blank*. I did kinda expect it to be THAT person...it only made sense to kill that character off. I only wish the stupid newspapers/radios/tvs didnt announce to the whole world that a character will die. I really hate spoilers. I think i spent quite alot of my time trying to figure out where the storyline was heading and who will die. I was soooo looking foward to finding out what happens, but when the book ended, there was such an empty feeling inside me. I hate that feeling....you really want to find out what happens in the end, but you dont want it to end and when it does, you get a very empty feeling inside yourself. I think that was kind of what i was feeling after watching the last episode of Buffy......

(Btw, i noticed i did ramble in this post and i see no point to this post.....But thats what you should expect from me! Randomness)

Computers suck.....

Despite the heading......i doubt i can lead a normal life without a comp now......But anyway.....i've heard alot of people say that computers are like women. You just cant understand them. And when you piss them off, dont expect any response. Which is quite true considering my temper. Actually, slight modification. If you piss me off, u either get no response or i will rip ur head off. (In the nicest possible way of course... *^_^*) Anyway, back onto the subject of comps. My bro-in-law bought second hand laptop without an OS on it. So obviously, me being the only one who has studied computers was called in to fix it. The crappy piece of shiet doesnt display wot key to press into the bios so i couldnt get it to boot from disk. So i tried to ghost the damn thing and it wouldnt work! So i thought.....fine.....be a bitch...So i nuked the HDD and wiped anything that could have possibly made it work. Did a reboot and saw "Invalid system disk. Please replace and press any key to try again". o_O Not a good sign....The worst thing was, my bro-in-law, 3 nephews and my dad was sitting around my comp waiting for me to do something magical to it and give it life. I failed and they left....

Anyway, later in the night, with a help of a fairy, lets call the fairy twinkle J. I found out that the laptop has a completely FARKERED setting that saves options under STUPID headings! UGH. Took me til about midnight to fix the damn thing! Guess it is like a woman......need to spend time with it to get it to work.....

I've spent close to 3 hours today tinkering with more computers and its starting to shit me! One comp wen i try and dialin to a server gives me a busy signal, the other comp dials in perfectly fine but just wont let me access the page i need! Finally got around that and i can access the page but my login is disable!? Like WHAT THE CRAP?! GRRRRRRRR I HATE dialup.....i cant wait for it to be obselete and everyone is on cab0! cab0 ROCKS!

Looks like i'm gonna need a long rest this weekend.......lowenbrau anyone?

arghhhhhhhhhhhhh KILL MEEEEEEEEE

Oh god...the pain of being back on dial-up....after close to 4 years+ on cable...i am back on dial-up. Well at work anyway. Not only is dialup super shit ass slow...but when you gotta do it over a VPN connection AND their server is FARKED, its faster watching a snail race. :T I have decided there is NO WAY IN THE WORLD i will ever go back to dialup...Even ADSL is hard to bare at times...Oh how i take cable to be granted....

It looks like its gonna be a longgggggggggg week for me. They got me programming again. Everyone knows i hate programming....never got it at uni but i didnt really care i guess. I thought i would never get a job as a programmer anyway. Hiding in a cubby hole with a nake light bulb, a computer and a phone to dial for pizza isnt my cup of tea. I was thinking, Wow! So lucky........found a job that has to do with software(IT) and it doesnt involve programming!! But alas...here i am..with a screen full of code infront of me. :T

I guess its not too different from uni....i dont actually have to WRITE the code myself...i just have to modify it (3years of cut/paste/replace word means i am an expert at this). Its still a pain though. Probably due to the fact that i am doing this for work. And at the back of my mind, i'm always worried that my boss is gonna find out i'm a fraud at programming. And once he finds out, i shall be fired. I'm probably being over paranoid i guess. There are plenty of ppl who cant program at my work, so they do other stuff. But for me, i see it as a weakness that will stop me climbing to the top of the corporate ladder and hence stop my evil plans of global domination. I know i should really learn how to program......but i just hate it so much i cant motivate myself to go learn. I see code and i start getting sleepy. Looks like i'm gonna have pretend to know what i am doing...or eventually learn how to code since i have no choice. ARGH! The things i do for money!! Ok i just sounded like a prostitute.....

Anywhoooo...Just random mumbling whilst i wait for the bloody page to load over a FREAKIN DIALUP CONNECTION!@$@#%!@#$^ ARGH!

Oh and btw, i have NFI y parts of my post are missing. My suspicion is that its incompatibility between various browsers. The page displays perfectly for me at work. Even the side bar is perfectly aligned. Just that at home its totally stuffed -_-" Oh wells.....i can test, just cant program. *Looks at the code on the screen* Looks like i better get cracking at this pile of shiet.....errrrrrr......i mean.....code...

Welcome to my new blog!!!

Thought its about time i found somewhere to ramble my random thoughts and ideas. Probably a good place to keep a log of all my strange little "incidents" that just occur throughout my life....

Lets start with the weekend shall we?

Friday we went to Lowenbreau for mango beer!! MANGO BEER ROCKS!!! Omg......cant believe me and vics sculled 1L of that stuff!! HAeAHeAH Then we had Butterscotch beer which was inspired by Harry Potters Butter beer...mmmm......butter beer.... *Homer drool* Goddamnit i want more! AHeAHeAHe And NO i'm not an alcoholic.......just a new thing to keep me interested for awhile....although i'm terrified of the whole beer gut thing....

It was quite fun stumbling around the city totally tipsy (ok...drunk) and laughing our heads off. Was quite amusing when vics, in her drunken stupor, knocked a glass over during dinner and smashed it on the table. She then turned to the waitress and went "hehehehehe i think i've have too much to drink" and then walks off to the toilet! AhaheaheAHEa I'm sorry vics....but something that memorable needs to be recorded down somewhere.....

Saturday was quite boring except for my rehersal for sunday which we did at the local park. We picked a quiet end of the park away from the kids and swings to prance around with a veil and all...and then a bunch of 14yo turned up. @_@ They stood under a tree with shock horror staring at us. I knew exactly what they were thinking. "OMG! how embarrassing!? What is wrong with these loonies???" And uno what the weirdest thing is? I didnt care....i'm so old i dont care anymore!!! OMG!!! ~>_<~ I used to be like them and worry about what other ppl think when i make a total ass of myself. I think its all the "training" i've received from enver's "lose ur self-dignity" academy. I just dont give a crap anymore. We kept dancing despite the fact that i know they were standing there with their mouth open and their finger uncontrollably lifting up and pointing at us like we were freaks. But then we were 2 chicks standing on the FOOTPATH waving a veil around with celtic music blaring out of my car. All that was missing was some candles, incense and a bit circle/star drawn on the ground. At the end of our dance, the young `uns decided to:
a. laugh
b. clap
c. wolf whistle

I was quite confused by their reactions. o_O

Anyway, sunday was the big day! After 1 year of belly dancing classes, i finally had something to show for it! I couldnt sleep the night before cos i was quite hyper and also addicted to harry potter. I didnt know whether to pace around the room, keep reading, or just knock myself out with a bottle of vodka. When i woke up all i could feel was a sickening feeling in the bottom of my stomache. I tried to sleep longer so i wouldnt have to be awake and nervous for so long....but ended up getting out of bed. I was so nervous sitting at home, that when i was doing my makeup, i ended up putting eyeshadow on my lips....So i decided to just go early and help set up.

Got there and realised that everyone else had arrived and was busily doing their makeup and gossiping in the changeroom. Actually felt like i was backstage at a broadway musical or something. I was wondering why no one was nervous until i turned around and spotted a bottle of opened champagne. To the left of that was a bottle of half empty vodka...it was all clear..So without pausing, i marched over and poured myself a glass of champagne which i downed in a few seconds. All nerves were gone after that :D

I was so glad to see so many familiar faces in the crowd including gus! the nong left the country without telling me! far out! atleast he made it to my performance. Was funny how i looked out into the audience and i saw 4 ppl sitting in the front row all with cameras up and snapping away merrily. If i didnt see them before hand i wouldnt know they were my friends cos their faces were covered up by the camera! AheaHEaHEa I'm just glad i didnt end up tripping on my skirt or dropping my veil. I had actually sewn finger ring thingies onto the veil so there was NO WAY i could drop it....only prob was i didnt sew it properly and the ring holes started to fall apart! So i had to saw them off with a blunt kitchen knife before i went on stage! But the dance went off without a hitch and i was able to enjoy the rest of the performance as an observer. It was all good *^_^* Apparently there will be another performance i November where my teacher will also perform a song. I wouldnt mind dong it again. This time i might even do a solo.... *GriNZ*

Thats it for now....dont expect such long posts from now on. Dont even expect regular updates cos i'm a slackass.

My belly dancing photos
