The last hurrah

I only just realised that I haven't blogged about our last day at the Gold Coast. Don't know why since it was the most stressful day we were there! So after all our waking up at all ungodly hours, on the day we had to check-out, we could actually sleep in a bit. It was the first day that I wasn't the one awake and all I wanted to do was sleep in. FFS I was there for so many days, I had to choose the day I was going home to sleep in! I eventually putter out of bed only to find out all the alcohol is gone and all we have is a huge chocolate cake. And chocolate cake for breakfast just made me want to heave. So instead of throwing it away, we decided to give it to Anne and her assistant Cherry. Yes its her real name. So, me with the camera in tow, A Current Affair style, we head down to the reception to give the remaining cake to them. Not before we had a good argument as to whether we should take the writing off the cake first. Would someone listen to me? No! So here we were, camera in hand, standing at reception with Moishii struggling to explain why we had "Happy Mykonos/Olympics anniversary" written on the cake. You know, if you bothered taking the writing off, you wouldn't have to explain! Anyway, I think they were catching on to us as they kept looking at the camera. Oh wells.

After the whole explanation as to why we have a cake etc etc, we finally understood why they had a look of disgust on their face. Because we had insisted on breaking off bits and pieces of the hand to eat, what remained looked like a headless woman chucking a leg spread...... *cough*

With that clarified, we went back to the apartment, screamed our last "CHRISTINEEEEEEEE" from the balcony and dragged our luggage downstairs. Anne had agreed to lock our luggage up for us whilst we go exploring. We thought they had a luggage room, what they had was this:

Don't ask me why they had crutches in there, but this room was a junk room! We barely got our luggage inside the room because it was so full we couldn't open and close the door properly!! So we stow our luggage away and decided to go have a relaxing breakfast. The moishii screams for a coffee before we even sit down. This is what he gets:

Nice.....but look at what I get when I order 10mins later:

Tehehehee I'm flattered! Its great to be a chick sometimes!! Anyway, breakfast came and it was the first time we sat back and slowly enjoyed our meal and RELAXED.

MmmMMm bacon thats crunchy, cripsy and still juicy all in one go!

We decided to give away a cake so someone can have sweets for breakfast! But it does look good doesn't it? MmMMm strawberries.....

So after eating, we wandered around the streets to do more sight seeing, photos and buying some souveniers. This was when we encountered HER:

Don't ask me why we found it so funny. We always find things funny. But its kinda hard not to shake your head when she goes into a big spill about how her name is partly turkish but she's not turkish but she's glad to know that Moishii is Turkish. Like what the?? Then there was a whole big commotion when Moishii said he was flying off to Turkey tonight and that he was thinking of buying something for his cousin. Of course this resulted in her trying to make us buy half the shop! God why can't you just keep your mouth shut!? Its like you blurting to the woman that you're making a documentary?

Anyway, we managed to escape without spending cent. We headed on over to Infinity which is basically a place with about 20+ "rooms" that are filling with various lighting special effects that gives you the illusion that you're suspended 1000000km above ground amongst other things. No photos here since we screwed up the ONLY photo opportunity and you can't bring anything into the place with you. But it was good fun. It was expensive, $30/30mins, but I enjoyed it! This is my second time and it was even better than the first!

After the whole infinity thing, we decided it was time for another coffee. All we wanted to do was sit, and relax whilst the time passed. Suddenly, we hear this "SCCCHHHRRLLKKKKUUKKK" sound next to us. We both whip around to see where the sound was coming from:

Basically, this lovely lady did this "hocking your phlem up but also simultaneously choking on the phlem whilst sucking the snot from your nose" type noise. And it was LOUD. She was a good 5m away from us when we noticed her, god knows why she didn't burst a vessel sucking/hocking the way she did. To this day, we're still arguing as to whether she was hocking something up, or sucking her snot through her nose, or just choking on either one of those things. Its one of the most disgusting sounds you will ever hear, and it basically put me off my coffee.

Since we didn't want to put anything into our mouths after the whole bodily fluid thing, we decided to walk to the other side of town. We got heaps of lovely pictures, including a shot of our apartment:

We had a nice relaxing stroll in the sun and enjoyed the breeze....but do you know I have issues with "Relaxing"? I can't relax. I come from a family that in our spare time, we work. We don't relax. So after all this relaxing, I was getting a build up of something. As we walked past the wax museum, we contemplated running in, taking a photo and running out without paying a cent. But there was a guy standing right by the entrance, so I did what I thought was appropriate. I told Moishii to turn on his video camera and film. All of a sudden I grab his arm and scream "OMG!!!!!!! ITS CHRISTINE!!!!!! CHRISTINEEEEE!!!!!!!" followed by a full bolt down the street. My blood curdling scream basically made the guy almost wet his pants. I felt SO MUCH better after that.

Especially when we found Christine's new sugar daddy:

The wind had picked up significantly after this so we headed back to the apartment to grab our bags and wait for the transfer. Now when we booked our transfer, we weren't allowed to pick the time we wanted to get picked up. We give them our flight number, they TELL us what time they will pick us up. I am always very safe when I travel and try to get to the airport ATLEAST 1hr before departure for domestic flights. We almost didn't make it to the airport because of the bloody driver because he tried to run a red light! Its not like we were actually in motion when he ran the red light. We were sitting at a red light, and suddenly he thought it'd be a great idea to drive into the intersection! THIS GUY ALMOST KILLED US!!!

So we FINALLY get to the bloody airport and theres only 45mins til departure time. We run into the airport and theres a HUGEEEEEEE line at checkin. Luckily we were able to use the Virgin Blue express check in machines and got ourselves tickets. We just had to check our luggage in. As we line up to check our luggage in, the line to get through security just grew and grew behind us. I start freaking out as theres over 100 people lining up to get through security. This didn't include the 100 people infront of us trying to check their bags in! To make things worse, we look at the monitor and it says our flight is at gate 8. Our ticket says we're at get 7. When we finally get to a checkin counter, we ask the attendant and she says we should be at gate 9. And if thats not bad enough, the reason I'm so panicking is because I'm scheduled to arrive back in Sydney at 7pm, and I have an 8:30 volleyball game that I needed to get to! Meaning I had less than 45mins to get off the plane, get our luggage and go home, change and then go back out to the city for volleyball!

We line up to get through security, at this time, there is only 20mins til take off. We wanted to push in, but the thing is, EVERYONE is in a rush to get on the plane so it wasn't going to happen. Suddenly the line splits into 2, we debated jumping into the other queue but ended up staying in the main queue. This is when the other queue moves. Groups of people keep passing us and by the time we're near the security gates, theres absolutely no one behind us, and the line has shrunk from 100 people down to about 20. Looks like we got caught in the worst of the jam. We had originally hoped to get to the airport early and grab something to eat as I didn't want to eat so close to playing volleyball. By the time we got through security, there was 5mins til take off. I grab my bag and make a made run through the terminal only to come to a skidding halt. There is a HUGEEEEEEEE line for people to board the gate. By this time my whole body is trembling and my hands won't stop shaking because I'm so stressed about missing the flight and therefore missing the volleyball game.

Apparently there were huge delays and we haven't even started boarding let alone take off! I think it was Sydney's way to ease me back into the rat race, because by the time I got on the plane, I would've throw someone out the window if they were delaying us from taking off. We eventually get into the air and I ended up scoffing cold unsatisfying sandwhiches just so I have enough energy to play volleyball when I land. When we get off in Sydney, I make a mad rush to the baggage claim to get my stuff. I even left Moishii behind. I grab my bags and run for the taxi stand only to get caught up in another line. And with my luck, I got a taxi driver that had no idea where Hume Highway was. Its his 3rd day on the job, and he doesn't know where he's going. OMG I'm going to get lost! I start screaming directions at him and at 7:45pm I arrive home. I run in through the house dragging my suitcase. I throw my suitcase on the floor and run into the kitchen to let my parents know I'm home. This is when Mum insists I eat something before going out again. In 30 secs, I scoff a bowl of food and practically choke on it. By 7:50pm, I had changed and was in the head speeding towards the city. I get to the game on time, but lets say I was NOT relaxed first day back at work!!!

Harbour Town and Draculas

I just can't sleep in. Maybe it was the nightmares after last night's "Incidents". I get up and pot around abit and ended up crashing on the couch. After I felt semi human, I got up and packed my bag. Moishii decides that he doesn't want to do anymore shopping today, so I head off to Harbour Town by myself. It was a long bus ride, about 30mins, but it let me soak in the views around Surfers. I jump off at Harbour Town and immediately threw myself into the first shop I saw.

Basically Harbour Town is a huge factory outlet area and it is mostly outdoors instead of confined in one big cement building. Theres plenty of sun and plenty of cafes to rest at if you've had enough shopping. HA!

I picked up some great bargains when I was there, including Cranium, the board game for 50% off!! MuahAUAHa Also managed to grab a few bags and other items. I had originally planned to go to Australia Fair, but because the box of Cranium actually weighs a few kilos, I decided to head back to the apartment instead.

I managed to catch another bus back to Surfers and went past Labrador and the place is GORGEOUS! Too bad I was on the bus and couldn't get any photos, and too bad I didn't have my swimmers otherwise I would've jumped off the bus for a dip in the water. Unlike Surfers, Labrador doesn't have the huge bone crashing waves. The sea is relatively calm with inlets that is perfectly safe to let all the kids loose. If I ever to go to the Gold Coast with the kids, I think Labrador will be alot more appropriate than Surfers.

I finally get back to the apartment and my arm is killing me from lugging the box of Cranium around. I had previously called Moishii and asked him to meet me at the apartment as he had the key. I'm stumbling back in the blindingly hot sun when all of I sudden I hear "CHRISTINEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!". I turn and its Moishii running towards me from about a block away. I replied with a "CHRISTINEEEEEEEE!!!" and then threw all my bags at him. Ahhhhhh FREE!

I quickly show off all my new purchases and then we decided that a relaxing soak in the jacuzzi is called for. Moishii runs down the street to grab a quick bite as I get changed for the pools. 20mins later, Moishii comes screaming into the pool area because I was actually SUNBATHING. Yes. I know. I really don't like the sun, but I'm burnt as already. Plus, the water was FREEEEEEZING! I was more trying to warm up in the sun more than anything. We ended up doing the smart thing and jumping into the warm jacuzzi and just relaxed. After about 45mins, we were all shrivelled up and decideds we should head towards the sauna. The only problem was there was a guy sauna, and a girl sauna, of course we both crashed the girl's sauna. Now Moishii has never been in a sauna before and started freaking out when I cranked up the temperature. He kept screaming that he was getting hot and couldn't breath. ERrrrrrrr.....its a sauna?

Anyway, after a good 1/2hr later, we decided that we've had enough and we should head back to the room. The only problem was we couldn't turn the sauna off......after alot of prodding and turning things on and off, we managed to get the temperature to cool down......although I suspect it could be because we left the door open.

We quickly change and head towards the bus stop for our next event. Draculas. This isn't without incidents. It doesn't help that Moishii kept screaming that theres no bus stop and we're going in the wrong direction etc etc. I put my foot down and insist we're at the right bus stop, but because of the indy races, they had made a whole heap of road changes which is why its not evident. After alot of screaming, Moishii suddenly goes "Oh hey, theres a bus stop sign there. So I guess we're at the right place."

*blood pressure boils*

Anyway, we get on the bus and eventually made our way to Draculas. The place is right next to Pacific Fair, and you'd have to be blind to miss it:

The decoration is amazing! It looks soooooo much better at night with the creepy lighting and of course, their ghouls and monsters:

Now Dracula's is a cabaret restaurant. Theres stand up comedy, a ghost train ride and a musical show plus food and drinks. Well, food anyway. For a 3 course meal and entertainment from 6pm to about 11pm all for $70 on a week day. I think what really impressed me was the effort and thought they put into the decoration and how well all the staff kept in character. There is no "good evening". Its more of a "I HOPE YOU DIEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" type greetings.

Now as we walked into the place, they gave us a little talk, with the main point being NO CAMERAS. But you know me......I did managed to grab 1 or 2 photos, and everything was going well until Moishii decided to take photos WITH THE FLASH. FFS you've had that camera for over 3 years, LEARN TO TURN OFF THE FLASH! ITS ONE BUTTON! I CAN'T BE THAT HARD!!!!!!!! So I get told off because I was taking photos secretly WITHOUT the flash on, but they assumed it was me because they saw the flash come from my direction. FFS I get told off because YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO TURN OFF THE FLASH ON YOUR FRICKIN CAMERA! Anyway, heres the rare few photos we did manage to take before getting told off (don't mind the blurriness......I was doing this WITHOUT THE FLASH):

Cocktails to help us relax

Thai Chicken Crepes - Our first course before I got told off

We were quite lucky in the sense that our "waitress" played a character of a ditzy zombie, as opposed to the screaming raving gothic monster that would yell at everyone and eventually stole someone's thong. Don't ask. We got seated in the upstairs part of the theatre which was laid out like a lecture theatre meaning if you're sitting in the middle and you need to pee......bad luck. Eveyrone will need to get up and let you out. And when the food comes, you need to pass it down the row as the waitress and waiters can't get to you.

This wasn't too bad until we figured out who we were sitting next to. There was a bunch of pommies who were drunker than a skunk by the time we got there. He wouldn't stop talking to Moishii, the women in the group laughed at EVERYTHING. And she did it LOUD. So loud that she kept interrupting the stand up comedian and he basically had to direct a few words at her even though we're sitting at the top of the theatre. They would bang the table whenever they laughed and then they would shriek and howl like they were getting tickle tortured as they had an orgasm. I was ready to slam her face into the table if I could reach!! Thank god we had orderd a bottle of wine to numb the pain. It was getting a bit unbearable.....but I stayed in there, because I had a little surprise in store for Moishii.

When we first stumbled across the Dracula's store at Surfers, I went to confirm our booking, after distracting Moishii because I didn't want him to find out the surprise. I did the same thing when I picked up the ticket, and when the waitress came and asked if we were celebrating anything special. I even ducked out to the toilet to have a word with another waiter to confirm everything. During the intermission of the show, after they had announced all the birthdays and anniversaries etc (Moishii screamed at the waitress that it was my birthday when we first walked in) the surprise came. What was the surprise? We were sitting around chatting during the intermission when all of a sudden, a zombie, a dead nurse, some dead guy in a top hat all started walking towards our table. The look on Moishii's face went from confusion to utter horror. He knew what was coming!!

When we booked for Dracula's, Moishii had screamed that he wanted to order a Dracula's cake for the sake of it. But because we were having a 3 course meal that came with tiramisu in a coffin, we decided against it. Well, it looked like I had decided against it. The bunch of ghouls came up to us and plonked this down onto our table:

That's right. I ordered a cake that says "Happy Mykonos/Olympics Anniversary"!!! HAHAHA I had specifically asked them not to make a big deal when they presented their cake. So with 3 ghouls around us, one of them leaned towards me and asked me what to sing. He took one look at the cake, gave us the "WTF" look and I quickly saved the situation and said just sing happy birthday. So here we were, surrounded by dead people singing happy birthday for a Mykonos/Olympics anniversary, the pommie woman throwing herself ontop of our bench trying to see what was on the cake with Moishii just wanting to bury his face into the cake. One of the zombies came over with a knife, and instead of handing the knife to us, he stabbed the cake. He stabbed the cake like he would stab the man who murdered his entire family. Moishii freaked out thinking he was going to stab Moishii! After a laughing fit, we eventually asked for a box to hide the cake as we couldn't eat a single bite! Happy anniversary!!!

Hahaha I think it was money well spent. Anyway, the night ended after 11pm and all we wanted to do was go home. We hopped into a cab which started smoking/burning by the time we got back to the apartment. We dashed off before the thing exploded and went back to the apartment for some cake. We thought the night was still semi young, so we grabbed our cameras and headed for the streets (After a few more shots) to try and reenact some of last night. But it was one big anti climax so we ended up just passing out very soon afterwards.

Shoppinggggggg!

After our very drunken night the night before, I still got up around 7:30am. Like what the hell is wrong with me? I don't even get up until about 8am for WORK. Its those bloody bells I tell you. I'm going to shove those bells somewhere soon! Anyway, I'm always the first to get up. I shower and plop myself on the couch whilst the other one sleeps in. Feeling like absolute crap, I thought I'd try and get healthy and have a nice big glass of OJ for breakfast. With a shot or 2 of Apple Schnapps. Thats right.......the only way to get over a hangover is to ensure your body is never free of alcohol. So here I am lying on the couch watching tv, when Moishii finally gets up and starts screaming at me. Apparently he's disgusted that I was having shots in the morning without him! I commented that he was supposed to be sleeping! He started screaming that he's been awake for 2 hours and just didn't want to get out of the bed, and the least I could do was bring him a shot in bed. This whole screaming match kept going on for awhile, but we eventually made up, over a shot.

After yesterday's fiasco over the missed breakfast, we vowed that we're not going to skip/rush breakfast again. Incase you don't know, both of us really get the shits when we don't have a proper meal or if we're hungry. When we're hungry, hide. We we grab our stuff and head down towards the cafes. We plonk ourselves down at "The Chat Room" which is a cafe next to the one we ran out of yesterday. It was the budget breakfast for the both of us.

The food comes out and we grab our coffee for a toast. (No pun intended). We're just about to take a sip of my coffee when I see this:

A FAT lipstick mark on it. Oh god its going to be one of those days for me.......I just know it. After a lot of fuss, 5mins later, I have a new Latte and we toast again. This time it was lipstick free. We tuck into our artery clogging meal and god it was good. After feeling satiated, we head towards the bus stop. Our first stop? The Carrara Markets. Its basically a hugeeeeeeeee outdoor market with over 500 stalls selling everything from food, to clothes, to alcohol, pets, furniture, you name it, they've got it. I had a quick chat to the receptionist in the morning as to the best way to get there. The instruction was basically go to the bus stop and most of the buses will take you to the markets. So we're sitting at the bus stop waiting for the bus when this dude:

walks up to me, opens his mouth to say something to me and sudden snaps his mouth closed and storms off to another bench. Like WTF? I'm just waiting for a bus and I meet freaks. A bus finally comes along and we ask the bus driver if he goes to the markets. He turns around and says we're at the wrong bus stop and we should be on the other side of the street! This is after a 30mins wait! Moishii starts chucking a tantrum saying he's going to slam something into the receptionist for giving us the wrong details. We turn around and head towards the other bus stop when it suddenly occurred to me, that the bus driver could be wrong. The direction he was giving us takes us in the opposite direction of the markets! Another bus comes along and we quickly race up to the driver to ask him for directions. He doesn't have a clue and suggests that we call the information line. I whip out my mobile phone and I'm on the phone getting directions repeating what she says out loud so Moishii could also know what is going on. Suddenly theres a 3rd voice in the mix. This dude:

was trying to point us in the direction of the right bus stop. Apparently the bus is literally around the corner from where we were. Great, and we just missed the bus. We walk around the corner to the other bus stop and contemplate catching a cab there when theres that voice again. The guy had followed us around the corner. I know he was just being helpful, but that was a bit scary. He basically convinced us that it'll be faster to catch a bus to Pacific fair, which is a huge bus terminal, and change buses there as there will be 2 buses to choose from as opposed to 2 if we stayed there. So we followed him back to the other bus stop just intime to jump onto another bus.

The guy gets on before us and tells the bus driver that we want to go to the Carrar Markets and that he should point out the bus stop for us to change at when we get to Pacific Fair. This is when all hell breaks loose. The bus driver and the guy gets into a screaming match about whats the best way for us to get to the markets. The bus driver told us to get off and wait for the bus around the corner which will take us there directly, the guy starts screaming that its faster for us to change buses and that he should help us, and then the bus drivers starts screaming that any idiot can find the bus stop etc etc. After a good minute of their screaming, we decided to just go to Pacific Fair and change buses, if theres no bus, atleast theres shops there for me. The bus driver is pissed as hell and asks me if I wanted a single or a return. Before I could open my mouth, the old guy turns around and says "They want a return ticket, both of them". The bus drivers face goes completely black, he takes about 3 deep breaths, mutters something to himself and punches out the tickets for us. I grab the ticket and just want to hide at the back of the bus when the old guy stops me to try and give me directions when I get off the bus. This is when the guy behind us literally shoves us apart and starts screaming at us for "HOLDING THE FUCKIN LINE UP". God this is embarrassing. We slink our way to the back of the bus and put our sunnies on, hoping that no one will ever recognise us. The bus finally starts moving and the old guy gets off at the next stop. Like WTF? After all that fuss to go to the next bus stop? Lord help me.

We get off at Pacific fair, no thanks to the bus driver and find the bus stop we need to change buses at. So here we are, a good hour later waiting for the 2nd bus. We're sitting there, both silent, not believing the day we've had and its barely midday. I look up and from the corner of my eye, I spot a BWS. I turn to Moishii and said:

Me: "I should get a pack of cowboy shots.....I really need a shot right now"
Moishii: "GO GET A PACK!"
Me: "Are you for real??"

But even as I replied, I already had my hand in my wallet and I was on my feet moving towards BWS. Less than 2 minutes later, I had a pack of cowboy shots between us.

We take a shot each and instantly felt better. We split the remaining shots so we can carry them with us incase of emergencies. The bus finally comes, we hop on and about 10mins later, we're at the markets.

We walked around and around, not being able to find anything to buy and so we decided on a tattoo each. Spray on one of course. 15mins later we're still waiting and thers about 3 people in front of us. We give us and walked to a few more stalls where I saw the most gorgeous kids backpacks and quickly snatched up 2 for xmas. Somewhere along the line, we were commenting about how this is like the grand bazaar in Istanbul and how the next time I go, it'll be summer and it'll be stinking hot. Moishii made some comment about me walking around Istanbul in a bikini otherwise I'll melt. We laughed it off and awhile later, we spotted this:

The scary thing? There is no beaches anywhere near where we were! So maybe me strutting around in a bikini in Istanbul isn't so far fetched afterall.

After doing our rounds at the Markets, we decided to head back to Pacific Fair for lunch. We were both in a tired depressed mood. It suddenly hit me why......we haven't screamed Christine today. This thought occurred to me as we were walking by a bus stop with these 2 chicks sitting there. I suddenly scream "CHRISTINNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEE!! OMG ITS CHRISTINEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!! CHRISTINEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!" I grab Moishii arm and start running towards "Christine". 50m on, we're laughing so hard we can't run anymore. We're kicking ourselves for not getting the whole thing on camera because the 2 chicks sitting at the bus stop completely freaked out! hahaha And the best bit, Moishii actually thought I saw Christine for a moment! hahahahahahaha

We finally get to the right bus stop and we're sitting there waiting for our bus, when the 2 chicks followed us to the bus stop!

I wanted to scream Christine again, but the guy couple next to me might have a heart attack. We hop onto the bus and get off at Pacific fair. We roam around and around and around trying to find something that appeals to us and in the end hiding around a corner in the shopping centre to have a shot before we continued. We eventually settled for the Crepe Cafe:

Seafood Mornay

French Chicken

Lunch was going all good and well when suddenly Moishii does his "Oh god oh god!! CAMERA!!!"

If you know the 2 of us, you'll know the purpose of this photo so I'll move on......

*AHEM* We decide to bus it back to the apartment and rest up for tonight. We get back to the apartment, have a shot each and then jumped into bed. After a good nap, we get up and get dressed. We catch a bus to the casino to have a look around. We've always heard of Jupiters Casino and just had to check it out. What could I say......it was shit. Especially since we have Star City as a comparison......so we decided to head to the bar for a drink before heading back into town.

With a drink each, we sit back to listen to the live band. Our eyes adjusts to the dark and we see this:

This guy is close to this 80s, and he rocked the dance flooor. He boogied through every single song and even during the break! If I'm 80, I'm going to do that too. So we head back into town and decided that pizza was on the menu.

Vegetarian

La Porchetta Special

Now, for the whole day, I've been whinging and complaining that I'm sunburnt after yesterday at Movie world. Moishii keeps screaming for me to shut up and that I'm not sunburnt. So he issued a dare. Pull my top down and ask the waiter if I'm sunburnt, just like Sophie did to Moishii ON HER WEDDING DAY. When does he learn that he should never issue dares to me, because I'd do. Especially after I've had to drink a whole litre of wine. So the waiter comes over to collect our bill when I suddenly turn to him and asked him to settle an argument for us. I pulled my singlet down a fraction (its ok, he didn't see anything he wasn't supposed to) and asked him if I was sunburnt. He then starte rambling on and on about how he's a surfer and if he surfs for too long or he's in the sun for too long that he does get sunburnt and I might be a bit sunburnt and he should know because he surfs etc etc. There was no eye contact the entire time. Never dare me.

So after dinner, we decided to roam around the streets with a video camera and have a few more shots:

Shooters

Some dude, Moishii and Matey

Now its been awhile since this happened, but I'm not yet ready to talk about what happened that night. I can tell you we had shots at almost every bar we went to, and honestly, by the end of the night, we had over 5 shots and then we lost count. Theres alot to talk about, but I can't reveal anything yet. Don't worry, the camera was running the whole time, and there will be a premier of the video some time in the near future. I might tell you what happened on this night.....eventually......

Movie World

I've been lazy, so sue me. But here's the continuation of what happened at the GC:

So after our VERY drunken night, you would expect us to sleep in right? Wrong. We had planned on doing Movie World on the second day, so we had the alarm set for around 7am. But for some ungodly reason, I woke up at 5:30am. And due to our drunken night, I was dying for a drink. I wandered out to the livingroom only to notice that the sun was rising. Without my glasses, I start scrambling back into the room for the camera, but then the batteries were charging in the other room. After a few minutes, I got the camera ready and took a few pictures only to realise it totally wasn't worth my time and crashed back into bed. The next 2 hours was tossing at turning with the bloody bells chiming every 15mins. When we finally do get up, the first thing is to have a shot of chocolate vodka for breakfast.

The day before we spotted a cafe next to Bar Italia that had an awesome budget breakfast deal of bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, tomatoes, mushrooms and toast plus Tea/Coffee for around $8. We packed our gear for the day and rushed to the cafe. We seat ourselves and try to flag down a waitress for the menu. She comes over, practically decapitates me by throwing the menus at me whilst her body was half way across the court yard racing to another table. After we spend a good 5-10mins trying to flag her down again, we realise that if it takes this long to even order, it'll take forever for the food to come out. So we did a runner. We wait til the waitress runs around the corner before we grab our bags and bolt.

Next was a 2 man operation. Moishii runs to coles for some video tapes, I run to Gloria Jeans to pick up coffee and banana bread for Moishii. We meet up only for him to scream that he wants his jacket, so he grabs the coffee and runs back to the apartment for his jacket whilst I went and grabbed breakfast for myself and also to the local information stand to prepurchase the Movie World tickets. We agreed to meet in 5mins at the front of the apartment. 15mins later, I've chowed down my breakfast and half suburnt before he finally rocks up. Aparently some guy came to change the light bulb at our place, but he needed a hand because he couldn't change a light bulb by himself, but then he had the wrong light bulb and had to get help getting the right light bulb and so forth. FFS, how many men does it take to change a fuckin light bulb?????? Forget it, don't even answer.

We finally get onto the bus bound for Movie World. It'll be a good 20mins ride. That wouldn't have been too bad if this bitch wasn't sitting next to us screaming down the phone in russian for the entire 20mins. It sounded like she was telling her life story! FFS theres a time and place for something like that. And that time and place doesn't have me in it. Its bad enough I didn't have my morning coffee, but to make it worse, we left the alcohol back at the apartment! We finally arrive and practically shove our way off the bus. One more minute on the bus with her and I would've shoved the phone down her throat.

Anyway, we arrive, grab a timetable and immediately do a run for the Police Academy Stunt show. We're super early which wasn't too bad since we got front row seats to the whole thing. The bad thing was, we got seated with a bunch of mainland china freaks. One woman kept grabbing people and taking photos with them:

She saw the kid a few seats down from her walk past with a batman tattoo on his arm. She grabs the kid, spins him on the spot and start taking photos of his arm. He freaks out and sits with his mum to hide. Not getting the message, her and the guy gets up and follows the kid and insists on taking photos with the kid and his arm. Like what the? When they finally sit down again, they spy a little girl with blonde hair sitting on the other side of her friends. Again, she jumps down, throws herself at the girl and grabs her and spins her in her seat to face the camera. Multiple flashes later, the little girl is captured on her camera forever. Meanwhile, the freak next to me refused to stop staring at me the entire time we were there:

The show finally starts and all we can say is "CHRISTINEEEEEEEE!!". We have alot of filming to do! Here's a few quick snaps from the show:

With the show over, we dashed across the street to:

We LOVE Scooby Doo. And this is before Sarah Michelle Gellar even did the movie! So obviously we HAD to go on the Spooky coaster. Not that we really knew what the Spooky Coaster was. We just liked the idea of a Spooky Coaster. We originally thought it was something like the ghost train ride you go on at the Easter Show where people in costume jump out to scare you. We even argued if we should use the night mode on the video camera and try to film the whole thing but decided against it. So we get into the car with 2 other people. The ride starts, we go into some dark tunnels expecting things to jump out. Like the 2 lunatics we are, we're sitting at the back of the car screaming and laughing our heads off whilst the other 2 just sit there thinking "Fuckin morons". A minute passes and nothing really happens except a few laughing figurines. We start to relax when suddenly the car jolts to a stop. The next thing you know, we're going up in a lift. Oh shit......I knew what was coming.....only I didn't realise it would be backwards. We somehow thought the word "Coaster" on the "Spooky Coaster" was an exaggeration, but it was a frickin roller coaster! In the dark! This time we really start screaming our heads off. When we get off the ride, Moishii starts screaming at me like somehow it was MY fault for wanting to go on the ride. Like whatever!

We run out to the light and decided the only way to settle our nerves was with some foooooood! We ummed and Ahhhed for awhile before deciding on the lamb burger meal. We pay for our meal and stand to one side. We see a big tower of packet sauces and argued over what sauce we want. We decided to grab 2 of each, until I spot an old sign hidden behind a few stock boxes indicating that theres a price to pay for the sauce. Without even thinking, we throw everything back into the baskets and then started arguing again as to whether we really want sauce and if so, what sauce. After a minute of arguing, we decided on one tub of sauce, and pull out the money to pay. The waitress basically ignored us when we tried to pay so we grabbed it at left which is when we argued that if it was free, shouldn't we have grabbed more? You can never win with us.

MmmMmmm Innards.....

Maybe it was the sunstroke, but it was one of the best burgers I've had in a long long time. After scoffing all the food, we quickly dash over to see the Scooby Doo show. We grab the map and start hunting the theatre down. We ended up breaking into an office thinking thats where the show was. After practically taking the whole building apart, we find out that the show is actually on the streets. Oh FFS. Maybe they should actually state that next time?? We grab a spot on the curb and sit down and wait for the show to start.

Afte getting completely sunburnt, we pack our gear up and decided to explore the place now that we've seen all the shows we want to see. Since it was so hot, we decided to cool down by going to:

Did I mention that Moishii doesn't like roller coasters or any rides that involve high altitudes? Well.....it wasn't THAT bad I don't think......

We did get completely soaked though. I thought it was a great ride and wouldn't mind doing it again. Moishii on the other hand, was about to rip someone's throat out! So we dealt with it the best we could. We went and drank:

God Moishii sucked that thing down like there was no tomorrow. After the heart stopping (??) ride, Moishii insisted on something a bit more tame........

Yep.....thats an infant train ride. I couldn't even fit in the damn carriage because my legs were too long! AND I'M SHORT!!! I practically had bruises on my shins trying to fit into the damn train. We looked like complete morons sitting on a 3year olds train ride! Well, since we were being complete fools, we might as well film it. As we were going around the 20m tracks at 3km/hr, we started waving at this guy and tried to get him to leave a message on camera with us.

He refused! What type of freak refuses to be in our home video??? Bleh. We get off the train and limp around the Looney Tunes area. We ended up on some Looney Tunes ride where we see singing dancing bugs bunnies whilst on a boat. I hope that wasn't too much excitement for some people.....Now I knew there was no way I would get Moishii to go on the Superman ride with me...and I wasn't about to go on it myself:

So we went for a smaller version.......a MUCH smaller version.......

Moishii gets off the ride screaming that he needs a drink again. So we tried to head back towards the bar when we stumble upon the all star parade! Which is basically a parade of all the characters at Movie World:

Willy Wonka

Shrek

Sylvester

Cat woman's ass

When the parade was over, we quickly race towards the Shrek 4D show. I took us over 1/2hr to line up and get into the damn theatre. By the time we finally got a seat for the show, I was ready for another drink. God I wish I didn't leave my bottle of alcohol at home......The show starts and what can I say? It was awesome! Easily one of the best shows I saw on the day (Almost as good as the police academy show!). We come out feeling refreshed after being able to sit and rest our feet. We then did a frenzied shopping trip and bought a few souveniers, took a bunch of photos and decided to heat into the Batman ride before going home. BAD IDEA. 30seconds into the ride I thought I was going to throw up. It was one of those "space" rides where theres a huge screen and you get tossed about in your seat. It didn't help that we had a snack each right before the ride. The trip home was the worst I've felt in a long time. Almost as bad as my Istanbul to New York-overdose on tablets with a screaming baby kicking my seat ride.

We jump off the bus and all we want to do was go home. Moishii would've shoved someone into the path of an oncoming truck if they got in his way. Somehow I avoided that fate even when I insisted on stopping at the bottle shop on the way home. With a bottle of apple schnapps under my arm, we're back in our apartment within 10mins. After downing a few shots (Aren't you glad I insisted on buying more alcohol) we finally get some much needed rest.

We finally get our act together and go for dinner. We saw a greek restaurant the night before and we just HAD to go, since it is our greek islands replacement trip. We sit down and within minutes, we see this:

The guy in the blue and white is the owner who grabs every random person who walks by and insists on dancing with them. The waitress is just dancing to keep her job. We somehow ended up with an outdoor seat, which I was glad for when the music starts blaring. The restaurant was metres from the sea, and with the gale force wind, me in my pink jacket, Moishii in his Usyd Jacket, we felt like we were in Mykonos. So to celebrate, I raced down the street and picked up a bottle of wine. Just in time for entrees:

Turkish bread with Olive Tapenade, babaganoush and taramosalata

Grilled calamari (Looks like the petros leftovers from Mykonos)

Braised Lamb Shanks

It was DEEEEEEEEEEEEELICIOUS!!

We're completely stuffed and liquored up. We sit and relax for awhile. We talk about the good old days...well, we talk about Mykonos. And Santorini. And Rhodes. Maybe we really missed Greece......which is probably why we started seeing things like we were in Greece!

This woman looks like the woman who had the suitcase dropped on her head, and then her hair ate a woman's hand!

Whilst these 2 reminded us of the chick at the club who kept pimping herself out to everyone on the streets of Santorini. God we miss Greece........God we're sad. We ended up calling it a night and headed home to watch Sister Act. That's even more sad.......
