Day 27 - Mykonos - Hitting rock bottom
I'm pretty sure the aircon is on. Yet why am I sweating like I've just run a marathon. Oh thats right, I've got a frickin fever. My throat is on fire and my head is throbbing. Looks like the Mykonos curse is at it again. I ALWAYS get sick after the 3rd night. ALWAYS. We didn't get out of bed until about 3pm. And even then, it was a real struggle to even go out. The only reason we went out is for food and liquid. We made it literally around the corner and plonked ourselves down at the first place we saw. Looks like its crepes for us, which is a good thing because my throat is so swollen I can barely swallow anything.
Both of us feel like someone shoved a nail file down our throats. So instead of coffee or alcohol, we went for some tea. We couldn't stop drinking the tea as it really helped to sooth our throats. Last time we were sick like this, we ended up buying ALL the ice lemon tea from the local shops. After eating, we barely had the energy to do laps. I think we did 1 lap (just so we could check on the $40 woman) before I started getting really bad headspins and had to sit before I passed out.
Somewhere along the way, Moishii had to go back to the apartment to get something, so he left me sitting on a ledge on the streets. Whilst I waited for him, trying not to hurl, this old, possibly homeless guy came and sat next to me. And started talking to me. I had no idea what he was talking about. I don't even think it was Greek. It was as if he was possessed and I was listening to the devil. I quickly made a get away and ran back to the apartment to meet Moishii instead.
After that, we quickly dashed into the nearest store to pick up a few 1L cartons of ice lemon tea and water. Oh, a MASSIVE box of tissues for me because I know I will need it. The only chemist in town is closed for siesta time, which means I can't get any pills until later. We basically headed straight back to the apartment afterwards and passed out again.
I spent the next few hours running a fever and coughing my lungs out. We eventually got up around 9pm because I had to go the chemist. I took all the rest of my pills (I hadn't planned on getting THAT sick) and thought maybe the chemist might be able to give me something.
We got up and barely bothered doing our lap before we hit the chemist. They prescribed some green tablets for me (so pretty!) which I decided to take with our dinner. For dinner, we went back to the same taverna last night as I noticed that they had soup on the menu.
We asked the guy how big their chicken soup was and he said it was a small serve. So we ordered a bowl each plus a main meal thinking we would be able to finish it all:

Holy crap! I could wash my face in that bowl of soup! That bowl is at least 7cm deep! However, it was actually really nice and comforting. It was a chicken broth that had rice in it. It was VERY VERY similar to a chinese congee, except it was much runnier and uses alot of chicken broth. By the time I finished the bowl (Ok, I only got through 2/3s of it) and our main meal came out. I was completely stuffed.
BBQ chicken with roasted potatoesI wanted something light and non-greasy considering I was so sick so I ordered the stuffed tomatoes. However, I forgot that they stuff it with rice mixed with tomato paste. The smell and taste of that just made me nauseous so I couldn't eat any of that. I ended up eating just the potatoes and left most of the tomatoes untouched. The manager even asked me if anything was wrong. I thought it'll be rude to say your food makes me want to hurl, so I just said I was full.
We did a few laps after dinner, just to check on the $40 woman and Scary canary. But after awhile, I started to feel sick again and went back to the apartment where I proceeded to "return" my dinner into the toilet bowl. I don't think it was the food, I actually think it was the green pills they gave me. They were so strong it was making me sick.
I had to lay down for awhile after that, which meant we got to watch Je T'aime. We even managed to get a few photos of the highlight of the night.....
We eventually got up and went for a walk. As we were heading towards the $40 woman, I decided to walk into this leather shop that we've never been in to. This is when Moishii whips out the camera and starts snapping photos.

The woman started trying to sell me these leather bags that looked like a football with a slit in it. I had to keep leading her on whilst Moishii tried to get a photo. The things I had to do, even when I was sick. And these bags were hideous!
We continued our laps hoping that if we bump into the $40 woman we would feel all better. We'd even settle for Scary Canary. But it wasn't to be. However, I think this woman made Moishii feel a bit better....even if it looks like she's going to spit on him then rip his throat out!!!

We eventually made our way to Scandanavian bar. Not before a few of the bartenders asked us why we're not partying already. And we even bumped into the Horny Italians again who asked us if they'll see us there. So we get into Scandanavian, after pushing through this crowd
And we immediately get onto the podium. We're becoming a pro at this. At the top of the podium, you can see everyone. And suddenly, the familiar faces in the crowds are giving us smiles and waves cos they recognise us and there is a common understanding/experience between us. This chick was saying hi to me from across the room!
Of course, there was the topless Italian Guys

And for some stupid bizarre reason, this woman decided to wear a hat indoors:

If she wasn't a woman, I would've called her a tosser just by looking at her. Seriously, it looked like she was off to watch the Melbourne cup! Except she didn't have a hat and decided to slap a chessboard on her head instead! And to make things worse, she insisted on squeezing onto the podium right infront/next to me where there was barely any room, and started giving me the dirties when I bumped into her. Well FOR FUCKS SAKE WOMAN, if you don't like being bumped into, DON'T GO CLUBBING! AND DON'T GIVE ME THE DIRTIES WHEN YOU SHOVE YOUR SKANKY ASS NEXT TO ME! *deep breath*
Some of you may think we're insane for going clubbing when we're that sick. Well, firstly, this trip was all about overdosing. We knew we'd get sick, and we had to push through it and go clubbing. We needed to overdose on Mykonos and never go back (How successful my theory is yet to be proven.....but I reckon we can Myth bust that soon.....). Secondly, maybe its the dancing, or the extreme heat inside, I felt FANTASTIC. And no, that wasn't the alcohol talking. OK, I did try to drink a wine, but one sip and I chucked it.
When we left the club, we decided to be smart about things and headed straight to the pita shop.

I especially needed the pita considering my dinner was sitting in a toilet bowl. Strangely enough, this pita made us feel alot better. Didn't stop me feeling sick when I got back to the apartment and continue to toss and turn in a fever though.
