Kids, Kids, Kids!

Everytime my sister and the kids come for a holiday, not only does it mean we eat out heaps, have big feasts at home, but it also means my house, specifically MY ROOM is overrun with kids. Something in the house always breaks when they visit. Our wine cabinet in the livingroom is missing all the handles off the draws. That was the work of 3 kids. With 6 kids in the house, I count myself lucky for only losing 2 handles off my draws. Want to know why things break in my house?

Things get a little rough.....

Fight!! Fight!! Fight!!

Me too!! Me too!!!
Weeeeeeeeeee!!!

STACKS ON!!!!!!!!!!!

Lucky I'm not at the bottom......

BUT, they do have their angelic moments... It may be few and far between, but every now and then, I can get them to calm down just a bit to do something a bit more orderly. Like putting up the xmas tree. I went and bought a new tree this year. Our old tree was in the family for a good 15+ years. Theres barely any leaves left on the tree to hang decorations. And our decorations? Well lets not even go there. I went and bought a heap of new decorations, but as you can see, I didn't buy enough. But don't worry, I fixed that problem soon enough!

Everybody say "Grandpa has smelly arm pitsssss!! "

And......SILLY FACES!!!

All is quiet in the house.....

My sister and the kids left yesterday. The house is eerily quiet. After coming home from the airport, there was no screaming from the kids, the pile of shoes in the hall way went from 30 pairs down to about 5 pairs of shoes, I didn't step on any toys, sit on any food and nothing got destroyed in my room. I also didn't get my good night kisses last night. Every night since the kids have been here, I've been poaching for my good night kisses every night. I would walk into their room and go "I WANTTTTTT MY GOOD NIGHT KISSSSSSSS". Then one by one, or sometimes all at once, they would leap into my arms and plant a big kiss on my face and give me a super duper big bear hug. Sometimes if I don't walk into their room first, they'll come running towards me and does a flying leap into my arms!

Its going to be awhile before I see them again, probably July at the earliest, which is when I am currently planning on going overseas. This time I'll definately stay a few days in Singapore.

Meanwhile, I spent last night transferring all 8 gigs of photos from my laptop onto my desktop. If I'm not going out tonight, I'll try and update some of the photos. But since a certain MnM is visiting from Melbourne, I'm not sure how thats going to work. I might bring some photos with me to work to blog...since I am oh-so-busy right now ;)

Busy little bee

Gosh its been a hectic few weeks for me and its barely begun! My sister and the kids arrived a few weeks ago, and in the past few days, my brother in law, my brother, sister-in-law with new born baby has joined the family. Our house has gone from 4 people, to 12 people virtually overnight! Add my older sister and family, on an average night, we're going to have 17 people in our house. Theres not even enough room to sit even if we sat on the floor! I'd hate to see whats going to happen for xmas.....my cousin and family is going to join our group of 17 bringing the numbers up to 21. Add a few other relos that always comes to our place for xmas, and we're looking at anywhere from 24-28 people for xmas this year!!

Inbetween the kids running around screaming, the boys fighting, my niece feeling neglected amongst the boys and now jealous that theres another girl in the family fighting for attention, I have barely been on the net. Everytime I try to get some "Me" time, I'd hear one of the kids crying or my niece asking me to play with her because the boys are playing too rough etc etc. Then there is the cleaning.....6 kids running around the house fulltime makes a big mess. Even my dog is tired from all the kids playing with him. When they first arrived, he was so excited, running around in circles looking for attention, for someone to play with him. When I come home and look at poor Richie, he's lying on the ground too exhausted to even greet me. I get a half-assed wag of the tail and a look of "Why weren't you here to rescue me from the kids??".

I've taken this Thursday and Friday off work to help with the xmas preparations, but mind you, I'd probably end up going out with the kids instead (We've currently scheduled lunch at the Fish Markets for this Thursday hehehehe). Theres so much to blog about which I will get to eventually.....once I get my little beast of a computer back! I miss my Buffy.....yes...I named my computer Buffy. So sue me.

In the meantime.....

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone! Drink up and be merry!

Happy 400th Post!

Wow....I was going to start writing up some of the stuff I've been up to lately when I realised that this would be my 400th post. I remember when I first started this blog, I didn't even know what to do with it. It was just my "Claim the SoRMuiJAi username before someone else does!". Its part of my campaign to remain the biggest SoRMuiJAi on the web. I am THE ORIGINAL SoRMuiJAi by the way ;)

I can't believe how much has happened in the few years I've been blogging. My very first post was on my belly dancing performance. I've given up Belly dancing now. It's been more than 2 years since I've danced. That doesn't stop me buying a whole heap of belly dancing costumes when I go to Turkey though. So I've moved from Belly dancing to boxing to Italian to Volleyball. In between, I've gone to Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, China, Turkey, Greece and USA. I've gone from a ranter to a photo-crazy blogger. Everything is better with photos, especially food! And it helps that I'm so trigger happy. My whole obsession with taking photos of food began in 2004 when I visited Japan for the first time and I was determined to take photos of everything I ate. Now, I take photos of everything I eat/cook or what other people eat/cook.

I've also changed jobs and grown in my career and as a person (I hope) but I'm still frickin crazy deep down inside me. I think the day I stop screwing people over, making prank calls and coming up with scripting ideas will be a very sad day. Probably the same day that hell freezes over. hehehe

I was going to read through my blog to see exactly how much I've changed, but sometimes its better not to dwell on the past and focus on the future.

To another 400 posts!
