Headspin

I was originally going to blog about the trip, or Josie's wedding on the weekend tonight. But I have a headspin. Why? We had volleyball tonight. After a nailbiting first set, we were regrouping for the 2nd set. The team stood around in a circle discussing positions strategies etc. Once we had decided on all of that, we went "Alright! Lets go!". I turn around and half a second later BAM!!! Some guy smashed a ball straight into my face. I remember clutching my nose, everything going a bit black and then falling on the ground. Someone (I think it was Alex) asked me if I was ok, all I could do was scream "nosebleed!!". Next thing I know, I was lying on my back with a wad of tissue in my face and blood over my hands.

There was alot of fuss and commotion with the guy apologising to me and me screaming "I'll remember you!!!". Apparently the guy was "passing" the ball to our side of the court because it was our serve......but instead of rolling it under the net, he smashed the ball into my face. Great. The good thing is, our team finally won a set! Woohoo! Although I wasn't on court playing that set, I'd like to think my nosebleed and a combination of the guilt trip laid on the guy contributed to the win. I'm going to finish up here because I've got a headspin, and the ref (who is a physio) warned me that I would probably feel the whiplash tomorrow because she said she saw my head "snap backwards". We'll see hey.....

Oh.....and it looks like I've got the start of a mini blackeye.....or they could be dark circles from last night...but I don't think I'm supposed to have red bits that look like burst capillaries......so it's probably a bruise. First time for everything hey?

Exploring Surfers and some

I was so stressed out at work the whole week before. That combined with the hen's night, my birthday party, volleyball comps followed by late night dinner sessions left me burned out and lacking in sleep. The plan was to sleep in the first day and then just wing it. So at 6:30am, I woke up. Like wot da farrrrrrrrrk? For some unknown reason, we both woke up at 6:30am. I don't even wake up til 8am on a work day, but yet I'm getting up at 6:30am when I'm on holidays? Maybe it had something to do with the sun and the bloody bells that keeps chiming every 15mins. Luckily that doesn't start until atleast 7am.

We eventually drag ourselves out of bed, had a shot of chocolate vodka and took in the magnificent view from our balcony.

Omg how gorgeous is that? An oceanview room! w00t! Excellent photo opportunities now that we're sober. We had a better look at the apartment in the day time.

The annoying Seinfield kitchen bench

Not bad for the price and the location is excellent. Were literally a stone's throw from the cafes/shops/bars. For some reason, Moishii thought he would reenact the scene from Ace Ventura where he is screaming whilst opening and slamming the balcony door. He managed to scream, slam the door shut and then he couldn't get the door open again. So much for that. So instead, we turned around and both screamed "CHRISTINEEEEEEEEEEE" from the balcony. After that, we grabbed our bags and decide to do a bit of exploring. We stopped by reception first to complete the checkin process only to be greeted by Anne. She's the receptionist whos on too many pep pills and wouldn't stop talking. We quickly get out of there and throw ourselves onto the street. The first shop we went into?

We decided that it was time for coffee and brunch (Even though we've had breakfast at the apartment already). We found a little cafe next to the WB shop called Bar Italia

The place looked like a nice relaxing cafe with views of the shops and people. We ordered a coffee each.......

I ordered a bacon, egg and tomato grilled sandwich.......

.....and Moishii went for a Cheese and Tomato grilled sandwich. Only he got this:

That's right. They gave him a Cheese and ONION sandwich. Who in the hell orders a cheese and onion sandwich?? I mean, the waiter would've clarified if we REALLY wanted a cheese and onion sandwich so I don't think the order was taken wrong, but then why would the chef make a cheese and ONION sandwich? Using Kraft singles!! So Moishii takes his sandwich back to the waiter and this is what happens:

Moishii: I ordered a cheese and tomato sandwich, I got a cheese and onion sandwich
Waiter: FUCK!

Yes...those were his words......the owner quickly ran over and grabbed the sandwich off Moishii, and 5mins later, we got this:

Atleast its a cheese and TOMATO sandwich...pity about the Kraft single cheese. My sandwich, however, was delicious. I just wish the egg was a bit more runny.....but still yummy nonetheless. So we're sitting at the cafe, enjoying our caffiene hit, soaking in the sun, when all of a sudden we see this:

We managed to stop them and interviewed the big Purple thing called "Pinny" who has a red mate roaming around the streets, only they've had an argument and the woman is supposed to stop them from fighting. Like WTF? We can't even have a NORMAL brunch. We roam around afterwards to walk off the food when Christine calls. We sent her an MMS the night before with a video of us drinking champagne in the Limo and asking her to guess where we were. We told her we had eloped to Fiji with the blessing of Moishii's mother. And that someone is throwing coconuts. She believed us. For crying out loud, who would actually believe that shit? Especially with me screaming "OMG!! SOMEONE IS THROWING COCONUTS!!!". Apparently she went and told everyone we eloped to Fiji, only the wires got crossed somewhere and we were apparently in Bali????? God you people are screwed in the head. We decide to laugh it off and someone stumbled onto the Draculas store. We've already prebooked tickets to the cabaret restaurant, but thought it'll be good to check out the store anyway. This is a props paradise for us!

Coffin handbag

So we're strolling around and walked into a little arcade. Theres a little stand there saying "$59 theme park tickets". Wow! Discount! We wander over to find out how to get the discount tickets. I start asking questions, and this old woman (Called Denise) refuses to look at me whilst answering our questions. All of a sudden she looks up and says "I can help you!". She asked us "how long we've been together".....we couldn't be bothered explaining that we weren't "together" so we just said 6 years. This is when she grabs my hand and starts rubbing my fingers whilst screaming at Moishii that he hasn't got a ring on my finger after 6 years! Then she starts rambling about something about meeting us at 2:30. WTF? Apparently it was one of those marketing things where we go to a seminar, and they give us 2 tickets to any theme park for $59, or a $100 dining voucher or a $75 shopping voucher. We didn't really want to commit to going to the seminar despite the good incentives and kept making up excuses about us having plans etc. We told her we'll come back (Which means we're never coming back) and she starts screaming that she better see us soon, and that we better not talk to any other promotions stand! And if she sees us talking to other stands, shes going to come after us. We walk away and suddenly an idea came to our head. If we went seperately, would we EACH get a $75 shopping voucher? Cos that would be great! I walk back to ask her that question, and she screams that its only for couples and we would get one voucher between the 2 of us, and then she slaps me. Like WTF?? Alright, she slapped me on the arm, but she still slapped me! Who the hell slaps someone when trying to sell them something? Maybe I should become a door to door salewoman and slap everyone who opens the door for me! We managed to convince her to get her photo taken:

The look after slapping me

We quickly run out of there and suddenly find ourselves at the beach. How gorgeous is the view?

Surfers Paradise

Moishii almost gets run over trying to get a few shots

We race back to the apartment to grab our swimmers. On the way there, this crazy woman driving a car, turns into the exit of a car park. She almost crashes into the car so she quickly reverses, only theres too many cars on the road, so she parks right across the entrance of the car park. Then she sits in the car throwing her head from left to right exorcist style for about a minute before she tries to reverse out of the way and almost runs someone over before she stops blocking traffic. I swear there are freaks all around us.

We grab our gear, had a shot of vodka, threw open the balcony door, screamed "CHRISTINEEEEEEEEEEE" and then headed towards the beach to soaked up some sun. We pranced around the water for awhile and then realised we were starving. We ended up at a fish and chips shop and ended up with a fisherman's basket each. No photos of this meal because we didn't want to get sand in our cameras, but omg the food was good! The batter was light and crispy and a generous sprinkling of chicken salt was the perfect combo. For the fishermans basket, they used a soft flathead like fish which melted in my mouth. The prawns were crunchy and oh so delicious. The calamari was one of the most tender ones I've had in a long time! Damn I wish I had photos!

After we finished eating, we were sleepy. So we stumbled back to the apartment whilst clutching our stomaches. Soon we were fast asleep only to be waken a few hours later by the stupid bells again. This whole eating and napping thing is starting to sound like Mykonos! We get changed and head out to the Esplanade which has a Friday night markets. And you know me and Markets. Shopping!

OMG WE FOUND THE CRAZY HAT WOMAN!!!

For some stupid reason, everyone was walking around with these foam lizards

Actually, I didn't buy a SINGLE THING! I am so proud of myself! Moishii thought he'd have to confiscate my wallet, but I was too busy taking photos to really shop. We roamed around a bit more, taking in the night sights and ended up at a bottle shop. Funny that aye. We walk in and quickly grab the first bottle we saw. 2mins later, we're sitting at Santa Lucia Restaurant a few shops down toasting to our holiday. 10mins later, we have downed the first bottle of wine, and I was at the bottle shop again buying another bottle. The guy at the register took one look at me, shook his head and processed the purchase. The food finally came after we finished over a bottle of wine.

SCULLLLLLLLLLLL!!

Four seasons pizza

Green Side Salad

Vegetarian Pizza

By this time, the restaurant felt like a merry go round. I turn to my left and realised that the couple that has been there atleast 1/2hr before us is only like 1/2 way through their FIRST bottle of wine. Our second bottle was almost empty! They were looking at us like we're complete fuckwits.

We somehow managed to pay for the meal, I'm not too sure how that happened. And I think we ended up at IGA to buy some supplies.....but I can't remember what we got. And apparently I fell somewhere along the way home.....I'm not too sure...but I did managed to take this pic:

And I have no idea who these people are, or where I took the photos...or whether it was even me taking photos......

A while later, we ended back at the apartment, having more shots, screaming "CHRISTINEEEEEEEEE" from the balcony and watching the scenes we filmed for HI. After about 30mins of Christine in a nun suit, I had more than enough. I stood up, screamed "CHRISTINEEEEEEEEE" from the balcony and then collapsed into bed.

Passed out

Ashley piccies

Here's a few more piccies of my new adorable niece Ashley. They've decided to go with "Ashley" as opposed to "Ashlee". Isn't she adorable? Apparently she looks like me......I don't think so!

...but apparently she screams like me!

hehehe That's the right attitude! hehehe According to my parents, my parents were about to throw me out of the 2nd story balcony if I didn't shut up when I was a kid. My parents would be working at the restaurant from 9am-11pm 7 days a week, they get home and expect some sleep, but thats when I start screaming. Then my parents, sisters, bro and grandparents had to take turns carrying me until the wee hours of morning. I guess I was worried my family would think I was a mute.....I just wanted to make sure they knew I was fine. hehehehe But on the 100th day, I stopped crying. Just over 3months after I was born, I would suddenly sleep through the night without needing to be held. I guess I always liked being difficult hey? Lets see how this baby girl turns out. I'm going to teach her everything so she would be JUST LIKE ME. :D

Getting away in style

Its been ages since our last holiday and I'm dying to get away from this hell hole. Oh wait...its only been 3 months since our last holiday.....

God.....what was I thinking declaring we're not going to Mykonos this year? I mean my intentions were good, we wanted to save money and do Italy properly next year. But god was I stupid and niave. So Thursday 5pm, I was out of the office dragging my suitcase through the crowds of people to Wynyard station and quickly hopped onto a train to the airport. I minute I see Moishii, it hit us that we're going on holidays! Oh thank god! We quickly check-in even though we're waaaaaaay early for our flight, but knowing us, there are always incidents waiting for us. With Moishii's 20kg suitcase (who the hell goes for a holiday with 20kg??) and my 15kg suitcase checked in, we shoved people out of the way to look for food. We spot Red Roosters and quickly jumped into the huge queue only for Moishii to stand there screaming something about Mama Leonies and their garlic. FFS if you want pasta, get pasta, just get out of my way!

After scoffing all the food and feeling much better, we did a bit of shopping and eventually strolled to the departure gate. We board and quickly find our seats. OMG We're finally going on holidays!! Within the first 5 mins, the bitch sitting next to Moishii pulls out her mobile phone and has a chat-a-thon with her friend. She used the excuse that she wanted to know the bus timetable when all she was doing was trying to scam a free lift from her friend. Poor bugger. So this woman sits on the plane and has a full on animated conversation for a good 10mins with the air hostess ignore her before she hangs up only to make more phone calls. When she finally decides to shut her trap, she starts chucking this big fuss about her reading light. Somehow, her reading light was not aimed at her seat, it was aimed at Moishii's seat. And it was jammed. So the both of them waves their hands in the air like they just don't care... no...wait, they start twisting and prodding the light, Moishii almost unscrews the entire unit to get the light to face her. After 5 mins of this fussing around, they finally came to the conclusion that the light is stuck. FFS I could've told you that. So instead of reading in the dim light or not reading at all, she shoves her book infront of Moishii so she can catch some light to read. Its a bloody 1hr flight woman, it won't kill you not to read!! Meanwhile, in NY style, a kid a few rows back starts screaming. From our seat, it sounded like the kid was getting strangled!!!

The plane finally lands and we run off to get our baggage. With the video camera rolling ACA style, I walk into the baggage claim area to find our transfer waiting for us with my name on a big card. Why film it you ask? Why the big deal? Because we hired this:

That's right baby.......we hired a STRETCH LIMO!!! HAHAHAAHAHHAAH why possessed us to do that is beyond me. Wait, I do know......the stupid accomodation replied to my email with instructions on how to get there depending on if we were arriving by car, taxi OR LIMOUSINE. So we hired a limo. A STRETCH LIMO. With champagne on ice! HAHAHAAHAHAH So we quickly jump into the limo, the chauffeur (hehehe I used the word chauffeur!!) popped the top off the champagne and pour us a flute full each. We pass him a CD to play for us. The volume gets cranked up, the guy half expects RnB or some techno to start blaring.....instead, what he gets is NUTBUSH!!!

"They call it nutbush, oh nutbush. They call it nutbush city limits!"

hahaha I made a CD of all the classic 80s music! Funky Town, Hey Mickey, Wake me up before you go go is a few of the choice selections of the night. That and Nutbush. Every second song on that CD was nutbush!! So we had our champagne, and we had our music, but we weren't partying. Why? Because it was one of the most god damn awkward things I've ever done! (Ok, nothing beats coffee with Johnny) We were too embarrassed to ask him to put the partition out, so we did the only thing that made sense. DRINK.

Riccadonna Ruby

And film.....

"God I so needed that drink..."

"Needed? You need more!"

"MOREEEEEEEEEEE!!!"

The ride to the airport that late at night took 20mins. In that time, we were taking photos, videos, sending MMS to people and best of all, we finished the entire bottle of champagne. Well I did anyway. I think I consumed atleast 3/4 of that bottle. The Limo finally pulls into the driveway of our accomodation and we almost got stuck making the turn because the limo was so long!

The Limo comes to a stop outside the door and we get out. The minute I step out, I see this old guy standing there gaping at us with his mouth wide open. Who the hell arrives at some crummy run down self-contained apartment in a STRETCH LIMO????? Moishii said that he had the tip business all handled since the guy helped with the luggage. Only he found out he only has a $10 note and nothing smaller. The guy walks up and it was too late for me to pull out my wallet that was stashed full of $5 notes. So much for having the tip handled. The guy saw the $10 tip (Probably not expecting a tip at all) and his face just beamed. Isn't he lucky to have a few moronic customers like us?

So here comes the part we're dreading the most. Because we're checking in late, the reception is closed. You're supposed to rock up, call their night number and they will give you a code to walk into the reception. When you get into the reception, you have another code to put into a safe to collect your keys. Simple, right? Well not for us. Not for us when we're drunk. Someone was walking into the reception at that time so we followed them in. Only to find out we couldn't call the night number from inside the reception. Then we realised we were locked into the reception, we eventually find a lock to open the door so I quickly run out leaving me locked out and Moishii locked in. I call the night number only to be put on hold. Its 10pm at night! Why am I on hold!? After a good 5mins, I finally get through and get the code.

I retrieve our keys without incident. We pulled out the keys along with 2 pages of instructions with the key points highlighted. Without bothering we read the instructions, we jump into the lift only to realise we can't go up to our floor. Suddenly the elevator goes down to the basement, the doors open and 2 girls scream. Thats because theres 2 drunk people with enough suitcases to dress an army is standing in the elevator holding a video camera! Thats right, we were filming the whole process. The elevator goes back up to the reception, and this time theres an old guy standing on the other side of the door. This is when I blurt out "Do you know how to make this thing work??????" He tries to jump in and help, only there was no room for him to fit into the elevator. Apparently theres a key hole I was supposed to put the key into so I could press the right floor. So here I was, drunk as a skunk with Moishii filming me trying to shove the key into the lock. I keep jamming the key into the hole but it wouldn't go in. So I turn around and scream at the old guy "IT WON'T GO IN!!!!!!". He tries to jump in again and use his key, but that wouldn't work (Since the doors were open). He tells me to try again once the door closes. The door closes and the lift goes back to the basement. This time, the 2 chicks are missing. I finally managed to get the floor button to light properly and we're on our way up, only we stop at the reception once again. The door opens, and the old guy is standing there just as the 2 girls from the basement walks in and he turns and screams "OMG ITS PUSSY!!!". Ok I know you're old and probably haven't gotten any for awhile, but you shouldn't be screaming it when you do see it!

We finally get to our level and again, its a battle of the keys. We're outside trying to get the room unlocked and we push and shove and scream and laugh until the door finally budges. The thing weighs a ton! No wonder we thought the door wasn't unlocking! We drag our gear into the apartment, throw open my suitcase, grabbed a bottle of chocolate vodka and poured ourselves a shot each. Feeling better, we grab our cameras and head for the streets. We roamed around the streets taking random photos and found ourselves outside Maccas when Moishii screamed something about an apple pie. So we walk in and walk out with a burger each. Yeah....don't ask.
Then somewhere along the line, a guy in a hat came tearing past us in a forklift like thing. I thought it was the alcohol, but no.....we have photos.

So we scour all the local bottle shops and scoped out which shop opened til what time and made our way back to the apartment where we crashed for the night.

Happy belated birthday to me

I know its late, but I did promise birthday photos. Its been a bit hectic with strange melbournians invading the city and the long weekend and all, but I finally got around to doing the photos thing. I was copying the photos onto my computer the other day and created a folder called "My 25th Birthday Party". I did a quick refresh only to find TWO "25th birthday party" photos. Strange I thought......this is when I realised that I am now 26 and it should be "My 26th Birthday Party Photos". How depressing is that? *SiGH*

Whinging aside, I booked a big table at my favourite Spanish restaurant Encasa. We ordered the Tapas banquet and I was a bit worried there wouldn't be enough food. Well that problem was quickly solved when all the tapas started weighing down the table!! I tried to take photos, but got quickly distracted by the mass amounts of food that kept arriving and spent more time trying to rearrange the dishes. Here's a few we collected:

Ensalada con Queso - Lettuce, roasted red capsicum, goat’s cheese, olives

Mejillones a la Marinera - Black mussels in fresh tomato sauce with basil and chilli

Champinones al Ajillo - Sizzling garlic mushrooms

Pinchos de Pollo con Mojo - Chicken skewers with red capsicum, olive oil, cumin, vinegar

Tortilla Espanola - Omelette with potato and onion

Chorizo a la Plancha - Grilled Spanish sausage

Gambas Sevillanas - Peeled king prawns in spicy tomato salsa

Garlic Pizza

The food was devoured at a feverish pace......

So once the food was out of the way, a cake magically appeared! Well, not magically, Moishii had organised a blueberry cheesecake birthday cake (despite me screaming I didn't want one, but he must've known better). And just like Moishii style, he had to cause a fuss.....thats right...sparklers.

I remember the first birthday party Moishii ever helped me organise, he interviewed me on camera. I made a comment that "I get more insane with each year that passes". Little did I know how true it would be. Little did I know that Moishii will play such a big part to that insaneness. Little did I know how insane I would become:

"Me go stabby stabby!"

And guess what? Someone FINALLY made it to my birthday and was even early! OMG!! hehehe Atleast you didn't spend 2 hours circling the rocks looking for parking this year!

And there was even a hot Ranger there on the night!

It was a great night and I think everyone had fun! Atleast I know SOME people did......

*Hiccup* Cheeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrs!

So what goodies did I get this year? More than I could carry! Lucky I had a few hot strong muscular Ranger like men to help me lug all the stuff to the car!

Feet and hands pamper kit

Handbag and gorgeous sparkly earrings!

Boardgame and cupcakes! (I can be a babecake!)

Reading material and a gorgeous venetian glass blown necklace

More pamper stuff! (Do I really look so old that I need that much beaurty products??)

Woohoo!! Cookbook!!
(I know for a fact that I will be getting the new Jamie Oliver cookbook once its released!!)

So far the presents seem quite normal right? Well, thats because I haven't shown you what Moishii/Cherry/Mojojojo got me yet. Last year I was surprised with a HUGEEEEEEEE photo of me and Johnny, this year, I knew it was going to another one of those pressies......

Its a series of Mykonos photos blown up to remind me that I'm stuck in a shit-hole of a Sydney and not causing trouble overseas. The big photo I'm holding is actually a photo of me taken in Mykonos blown up onto canvas. I just need somewhere to hang that! As for the other 2 photos...well, they'll be sitting at the back of my wardrobe along with the Johnny photo. Its just too hard trying to explain everything to my parents. Oh, Moishii also got me this:

No its not an empty boob bottle. It was originally filled with Chocolate Vodka. Lets just say it didn't last long enough until the photos were taken. *Hiccup*

Thanks to all those who showed up and thankies for all the presents!!! I love it!!
