Yesterday I went to Flight Centre to pay for a part of my trip to Greece. 7 day tour of the Greek Islands (Mykonos and Santorini), few days in Athens and a few days in Istanbul plus a quick stop over at my favourite Singapore. Everything is paid for. Accomodation, tour, transfers etc. All except the most important Sydney -> Singapore -> Istanbul -> Singapore -> Sydney plane ticket. Moishii is leaving this Saturday and I have the responsibility for picking up all the vouchers and tour information. He reckons I'll screw him over by not showing up. Well, dear, unless I can get a full refund (Which I can't), that won't be happening. Although.....I can always show up and *accidently* not bring your half of the tour stuff.
I can't believe I actually got talked into this. I come back from my trip to Japan, first day at work, Moishii walks up to me and proposes that we go to Europe. FIRST DAY BACK AT WORK! He then proceeded to write out an actual proposal. He listed all the reasons as to why I should be going, the shit we can cause and even put together a range of packages for me to choose from. We talked and talked, with me constantly screaming "WHAT PART OF I DON'T HAVE LEAVE DON'T YOU GET!?". Somewhere along the line, I started getting hyped up. Maybe its the endless photos of Mykonos and Santorini, the wild tales of parties and the mass amounts of alcohol they serve that started to make me itch. I should have realised that it was a warning sign that I was about to get screwed over. I had my doubts about how plausible this all was. I just got back from a holiday. I had no leave. I had a whole big list of reasons as to why I shouldn't go. All of that was thrown out the window when I was told what the Grand Bazaar is.
Grand Bazaar is located in the heart of old Istanbul. It is the worlds biggest covered market with over 4000 shops under the one roof. The Grand Bazaar is so big, its a city within a city! People literally get lost in there! The place is so huge, they've built churches and a SCHOOL in the middle of the place! I did some research, incase I was getting screwed sideways and didn't realise it, and I was gobsmacked. I sat at my computer reading about the Grand Bazaar drooling on my keyboard. I was hooked.
We've calculated and I would accumulate just enough days from work to take time off. We spent days trying to coordinate the flights and time it so we won't have to pay the high season rates. I spent numerous hours trying to explain to my parents why in the world would I want to go to another country where I didn't have relatives for a holiday *Shock**Horror*. Took them about 2 months...but they've finally gotten used to the idea. Kinda. We had the flights booked and we were about to pay for it when this happened.
Moishii had a fit and claimed it was a big plot to screw him over. I actually think it was him trying to screw me over. He got my hopes up and then crushed it. The BASTARD! The trip has now been pushed back two weeks. We leave Istanbul for Athens the day his Visa expires. Lets see who gets screwed over sideways when he gets deported from Istanbul for overstaying his Visa when we *accidently* miss our flight. MAuahAUahAUahAUah
Now its a count down until I get to go Istanbul and shop at the Grand Bazaar, smoke apple/strawberry flavoured bong like things, go to a turkish bath and have myself scrubbed up and down by a topless 60 y.o woman whilst he gets scrubbed by a 70y.o guy. Until then, I'll have to get used to not having Moishii around to help me screw people over. No one will drive down my street beeping the car horn and screaming "HOW MUCH!?". I won't get random calls/emails/sms regarding kidneys/bombs/filming/getting arrested or just some insane person laughing on the other end and having an asthma attack then hanging up on me. No one will threaten to vomit on me, shit on me or pee on me for the next 4 months.
You know....in about 4 months time....I might actually be normal again. I might be respected by some people.....well..more than I am now.
