Book-buying bug

Its been close to 3 weeks since i've bought a book...my hands are starting to itch again. Last time I saw this book at a store on special. Took alot of work NOT to buy it...actually, took cookies alot of strength to drag me out of the store without buying it...Maybe I should go back on friday and see if its still there. But then I also want to buy this, this and this. Dan Brown is probably my favourite author of the moment. His books are so full of detail and the amount of research he puts into a book is incredible. Apparently at one stage, all four of his books were on the New York Times best sellers list in the same week. I totally understand why.

When I first picked up Da Vincis Code, the first few pages were kinda average. It basically described the history and artworks behind certain things in his books. Once I got past that, I could not put the book down. I finished reading his entire novel in 2 days. I quickly picked up Angels and Demons and also finished that in 2 days. I know some people are calling me a nerd. But until you read one of his books, you won't understand my "strange" behaviour. All I need to do is go to the shops and buy his other two books this week and that should keep be preoccupied for a week or two :D

Until then, I'm going to start reading the 60 odd books I have at home which I haven't read. Starting with Patricia Cornwell. So far, I am loving every word of her books! Luckily for me, I have about 7 of her books at home which I havent read. Problem is.....I bought all her books at a bookfair, meaning they are kinda tacky. Based on my previous behviour...if I like her books as much as I suspect I will....I am going to go out and buy every single one of her books again. Just so I can have them in brand new, non stained, creasefree, greaseless condition. I'm very picky about my books. I read my books on the train every day and I ALWAYS wrap them in a plastic bag. That way they never get dirty, and because I wrap them quite tight, they never get bent or creased or ripped. I also read my new books without bending the spine! AHeAHeah Just me and my strange habits...

Right now, I am so tempted to call up the bookstore i frequent so much and ask them to hold all of the four books for me...But, I, Must, RESIST! ~>_<~

Oh crap.....I just realised.....it hasn't been 3 weeks since I bought a book...I bought 2 books on saturday....

*************** Update @ 6:50pm ***************
:X
This is what happens when I walk by Kmart and remember that paperbacks are 35% off and I get an additional 5% off... I just bought Dan Brown's "Deception Point" and Souad's "Burned alive". Now I only have to get Dan Brown's "Digital Fortress" and Simon Cox's "Cracking The Da Vinci Code". Maybe I should go shopping tomorrow.....

Moving on...

There's been so many people leaving our company in the past few weeks. Its sad to see my workmates leave because they've taught me so much and they were always there to back me up and dig me out of shit if i ever needed help. Despite that, I'm glad they've moved away from this hell hole. Don't get me wrong. I love my job and I like the company. But for them, this place has become a hell hole for them. They use to be like me. Optimistic about the company, eager to help the company grow. But they've gotten to a stage where they just don't give a shit anymore.

I've seen some of my workmate go through constant uphill battles with management. People who have been strung along for years. Telling them that they will be offered a permanent position but never happened. For them, I'm glad they've moved on to other positions where their efforts will be appreciated. I wish them all the best.

I am such a geek.....

That or I was exhausted. I had training from 9am-9pm today. I walked to St James train station, when I got onto the platform, I looked at the indicator board and I went to myself: "Hey! The indicator is in 1024x768 instead of 800x600!"....

WooHoo!! SCORE!!

Not me......but my gorgeous friend M. We went for drinks after work on friday and after the first round of drinks, M decided to go buy a round for us. I was wondering what took her SO GOD DAMN LONG to get back with my drink cos I was sobering up. The delay was that she was getting picked up!!! AEHAHEaEHA OMG!! It was so fun to watch!! The Pick-uper had this ULTRA HOT Friend!! M double scored!!! Too bad the pick-uper got jealous that his friend got mroe attention from the pick-upee than him. Not sure what the etiquette is when the pick-upee is more interested in the pick-uper's friend...But i think the friend got the message and made way for the pick-uper. Oh wells...atleast M got double picked up by hot guys! Wait.....its like hot guy and OMG IM GOING TO DROOL TIL I'M DEHYDRATED HOT GUY! LoL! Anyway, I'm not going into any more detail! Ask the Pick-upee for more details!! :D

To M: Babes.....you're beautiful on the inside and outside! YOU GO GIRL!!! *^_^* YAY FOR YOU!

This sucks......

Since my last post, I've been told that our CEO has signed me up to an Advanced Software Testing Certification course. (Despite the fact that I havent done the foundation one yet) This course goes for 4 months and is costing the company quite a few grand. Now some of you will go "Why does this suck? Its training! Its going to get you good money!!". True....all of those are valid points. Except...

1. All classes are held on a Tuesday night. This means no more bellydancing for the next 4 months. This also means no performance at the Westmead childrens hospital which I was so looking forward to. :T

2. The last class and exam is to happen during the two weeks I planned to be in Europe. I've asked to fast track the course and finish it in 2 months instead of 4 but I've been told that its not an option. I can't possible postpone the course considering how much the company is paying for it. So until further notice, my trip to Istanbul and Mykonos is off. That is, unless Moishii can change his return date and stay an extra 2 weeks and risk being deported.

And you know what the worst part is? After a month of worrying about whether I can get leave or not, I received this information the day I got my leave approved. Life sucks.

Here we go again...

I have around 8 weeks to choreograph a whole new dance for our next belly dancing performance. Our next performance will be at the Westmead Childrens Hospital. They have a TV studio there that you perform in and they broadcast it to all the rooms around the hospital or the kids can come down to the studio to watch. IM SO EXCITED! But i'm also screwed....I haven't even chosen my music yet!! Damnit!! This is what happens when you skip class for so long. I've been told i'm doing a solo and the opening piece.....i'm screwed....
