Headspin

I was originally going to blog about the trip, or Josie's wedding on the weekend tonight. But I have a headspin. Why? We had volleyball tonight. After a nailbiting first set, we were regrouping for the 2nd set. The team stood around in a circle discussing positions strategies etc. Once we had decided on all of that, we went "Alright! Lets go!". I turn around and half a second later BAM!!! Some guy smashed a ball straight into my face. I remember clutching my nose, everything going a bit black and then falling on the ground. Someone (I think it was Alex) asked me if I was ok, all I could do was scream "nosebleed!!". Next thing I know, I was lying on my back with a wad of tissue in my face and blood over my hands.

There was alot of fuss and commotion with the guy apologising to me and me screaming "I'll remember you!!!". Apparently the guy was "passing" the ball to our side of the court because it was our serve......but instead of rolling it under the net, he smashed the ball into my face. Great. The good thing is, our team finally won a set! Woohoo! Although I wasn't on court playing that set, I'd like to think my nosebleed and a combination of the guilt trip laid on the guy contributed to the win. I'm going to finish up here because I've got a headspin, and the ref (who is a physio) warned me that I would probably feel the whiplash tomorrow because she said she saw my head "snap backwards". We'll see hey.....

Oh.....and it looks like I've got the start of a mini blackeye.....or they could be dark circles from last night...but I don't think I'm supposed to have red bits that look like burst capillaries......so it's probably a bruise. First time for everything hey?

OMG...How are you feeling now?
Are you feeling less of a spin???
I hope you're not suffering so much, but its highly doubtful from the way things sound.

At least the guy apologised...but that doesnt make him less of a dumb fuck for throwing a ball over the net when no one is ready to receive the ball.

Feeling better thanks...no more headspins, but my neck is starting hurt. The ref did warn me that I would probably be suffering from whip lash.

And he didn't "throw" the ball over the net, he SPIKED the ball full force over the net. And since he was practising with a team mate during the break, I suspect he probably go to smash the ball ALOT harder then he normally would during a game.....

It takes a nosebleed to win a set. What a disgrace! :P
At least you're ok :D

If that's the type of motivation it takes..... I'd spit blood if I have to!
