Theres only one way to go....and thats up!

....the ladder that is...Another disappointing night for us. We were so close yet again! We played well throughout the game, giving the other team a real scare as we were leading for awhile. The only problem was that we would lose a point because of stupid little things. E.g. 2 players standing there watching a ball hit the ground between them, each expecting the other to go for the ball. Thinking a ball is going to go out and not chase for it, only for it to land a few cm on the wrong side of the line. Overall, we have been doing quite well considering half of the team didn't even know what a dig/spike/set was 2 weeks ago. We can only keep improving!

Hopefully we can get all the team training together more often. I think when the girls train together, we do pretty well, we know when to go for the ball, and when to expect the other person to get it. But as a team overall, we haven't got the dynamics right yet and I think its because we've only trained as a team ONCE. Usually its smaller groups of people training together. So although we've got the dynamics right in our small groups, we're having problems interacting as a team overall. Hopefully the training sessions should solve that! That and a chain for some people who keep running from one side of the court to the other chasing a ball that isn't there and then ramming, hence injuring half of the team! Poor Cookiez got thrown half way across the court and then ended up copping a ball to the face. I think even the refs all know how disaster prone she is when she almost walked right into a huge pole the ref was carrying off court! Next week we're putting her in bubble wrap, a helmet, and those baseball catcher's face masks! But then its not all her fault as I copped a few rams here and there.....and it didn't help that I kept scrambling for the balls that rebound off the net only to land on my ass!!!
