Day 37 - Back to Sydney

So this is the last day before I head back to Sydney and back to work. My 5 week holiday is coming to an end. Well, I'm going to make the most of today!

I woke up and had my favourite Singaporean breakfast of stir fried rice noodles, a dollop of sambal and fried fish cakes. All for $1.20.

I was meeting up with my sister in the afternoon at some shopping centre. Firstly, I had to go to Sim Lim square to see if I could pick up any cheap camera lenses. The only lens I wanted wasn't on sale, so I jumped back into a cab to this mystery shopping centre. Except my sister gave me the wrong name and the wrong address. Luckily the taxi driver was really nice and had a GPS to help me find the right place. This shopping centre is quite good for sporting equipment, so I quickly ran around trying to find new sport shoes. My sister rocked up eventually. My brother in law took the kids to Maccas, whilst the 2 of us went to search for Singaporean food.

Another Taiwanese oyster noodle

Laksa

We didn't share our noodles. That was 2 bowls EACH. Luckily the serves are small in Singapore, but even then, I only ate breakfast about 2 hours ago!!

We dropped the kids at home whilst the 2 of us went for a pedicure. My sister then dropped me off at the local shopping centre to do some last minute shopping whilst she looked after the kids. After buying everything I needed, I stupidly walked past their food stalls and got enticed by all the food they had!!!

Taiwanese crispy chicken dusted with five spice salt

Yong Tau Foo - Stuffed tofu and fishball soup

I went back and had a nice shower and packed everything up before we headed out to the Chomp Chomp Hawker centre for dinner. Yes I know its been less than 2 hours since I ate!!!

Sugarcane Juice with lime

After dinner, we went back to my sister's place where I put the kids to sleep before going to the airport. As I was leaving, my niece came running to me crying for me to not to leave. I felt so bad that I promised I will spend 2 weeks in Singapore the next time I visit. Even when I went to the airport, she called my mobile to say goodbye and was crying on the phone. Awwwwww

The flight back to Sydney was fairly uneventful, except the 50 China student tour thing. I was supposed to sit in the aisle, but the guy next to me really wanted to swap so he could "talk" to his friends. There's only 2 seats. So I swapped with him and basically passed out. I even missed out on the flight meal. About an hour or 2 before we were supposed to land, someone started shaking me awake. There was this asian chick sitting next to me saying she wants to swap seats so she could take photos. Here I am, all rugged up with my eye mask on and my neck cushion around me, coughing and sniffling like I had the rabies, AND SHE WANTS TO TAKE PHOTOS?!?!?! I screamed at her, pulled my eye mask down and went back to sleep. When I finally got home, I couldn't wait to crash into bed, but I only had a short nap because I had a Volleyball game that night. Straight back into my normal life I guess.

This was a fantastic 5 week trip and I loved every moment of it. Well, except for the deathbed moments. But I will definitely go back to Italy one day. And most possible Mykonos as well...
