Eating, SMJ Style

I was saying to my friends the other day that if I was to date a guy, he has to be able to eat. Not just enjoy eating and trying new things, but really, really be able to EAT. ESPECIALLY raw food. I love eating with my brother-in-law because he eats just like me. And I loveeeeeee raw food. If theres a buffet and they offer sashimi, get out of my way before you get hurt. Actually, get out of OUR way before you get hurt. So of course, we had to go to the Sydney Fish Markets for our dose of seafood:

1kg cooked prawns

Sushi for my niece

Smoked Salmon

Fried fish eggs

Seafood platter with lobster mornay

Tetsuya's Oyster Vinaigrette

This has now become a must for me every time I go to the fish markets. Lemon on oysters just doesn't cut it for me anymore. Damn you Tetsuya!! *shakes fist* Damn you and your orgasmic vinaigrette!

A Dozen Oysters x 3 packs

Salmon and King Fish sashimi x 2 packs

Uni - Sea Urchin Roe x 2 packs

Seaweed Salad x 3 packs

Salt and pepper calamari

Deep fried whitebait

Fish cocktails

Fish and Chips

Oysters Kilpatrick

The spread - And yes, we used a Twister mat for our picnic mat

Another shot of the food

We actually had so much food that some of them went missing amongst the sea of plastic bags, cutlery and stabby stabby forks. We also had a massive pack of flying fish roe lying around somewhere. My brother in law has trained his kids well. All of them eat sashimi. Even the little one who is only 4. Between my brother in law and the little one, they ate an entire pack of Uni by themselves! I only managed to nab a few of them before he gobbled the whole pack down! And my sister said to only buy 1 pack! HA! I knew better.

And guess what? We demolished EVERYTHING. Well, with the exception of 2 of the crumbed deep fried fish eggs that was about the size of my FIST. They go really bitter when cold, so eat up whilst its fresh.

After consuming half our body weight in seafood, the kids went home with the oldies whilst I went with my sister and brother-in-law to the city to do a few things. Not before stopping by the fish markets to wash our hands. Well, that was the intention anyway.....only we ended up at.....

MMmMm Cheese.....

I spotted the Toby's Estate coffee beans behind the counter and we just had to stop for a coffee!

We never know when to stop.....it wasn't enough for us to have one coffee each, I went back for seconds. And because the first cup I ordered, they accidentally spilt a bit of it and therefore ruining the lovely rosetta (fern) pattern on my coffee. So when I went back the second time, they upgraded my tumbler of latte to a mug with a heart. Awww.....

We rested with our coffee and a newspaper. After an hour, we got up and strolled to the city. Since we were still early for our appointment, we found ourselves in Chinatown, which is only a stroll from the French Riviera:

Chocolate Liegeois

My brother in law consumed the entire Chocolate Liegeois BY HIMSELF. Thats over six scoops of ice cream, chocolate sauce and whipped cream! I love eating with him, but even I have my limits! And thats about 20miles BEYOND my limit!!

So instead, I shared a 2 scoop with my sister:

Mango and Passion fruit

MmMMmm

Since we were due home for dinner in about 2-3 hours, yes we were still expected to eat dinner, we thought the best way to digest was to do a bit of retail therapy!

My sister got me this pair of heels for xmas even though we weren't doing presents for adults this year. I love these shoes! They're perfect for work, the heels aren't too high and they're comfy. Its been a good 8 months since I bought any shoes......so I kinda got caught up in the moment and went back and bought another pair in a different colour a week later.......

Woooo pretty! Hey! Its not every day I find shoes I like! And besides, I was tossing up between the white pair and the blue pair when I first saw it anyway. So the best way to solve that dilemma is to buy both pairs! Only.......I also like the green one......HmmMmm
