The count down begins

I am leaving in exactly 9 days! I CANNOT WAIT! I've spent the past few days frantically doing my research on the net. You would think that with less than 10 days to go, all I have to do is worry about packing hey? Hell. No. I only managed to book ferry tickets on the weekend, only to realise there are no ferries leaving Mykonos on the day we need. (Yes.....I am stranded on Mykonos again! And I'm not even there yet!) The only alternative? Despite swearing that I would never fly with Olympic again......I am to book and pay for my flight from Mykonos to Athens to Istanbul tomorrow. I can't believe we have to fly off the damn island again. And guess what...instead of spending 3 nights there, we now HAVE to spend 4 nights. Oh, and we don't have accomodation. Lets see...

Last time: Supposed to stay for 3 nights, had to extend to 4
This time: Supposed to stay for 3 nights, have to extend to 4
Last time: Scrambled around the town to try and find accomodation for the extra night we're staying
This time: Scrambling around trying to find an extra night accomodation somewhere in town
Last time: No ferries off the island on the days we need, had to fly off the island

Bloody Deja Vu.....

I've also spent the past few days booking extra tours and packages which should "hopefully" make our trip easier to handle. So far the plan is:

• Stop over Singapore for 8 hours to drop off food supplies to my sister and load on VCDs and shoes
• Spend a few days in Istanbul doing shopping, Turkish night, clubbing, turkish bath and eating all the food I miss
• Fly down to Pamukkale for some hot spring soaking. (This place is what inspired the entire second trip!!!) Visiting the "Plutonium" hot spring that supposedly gives off toxic fumes.
  

• Hope on over to Marmaris for a hot spring/mud bath soaking before we catch a ferry over to Rhodes. Gonna spend a day or 2 here visiting the Butterfly forest where the entire forest is covered with THOUSANDS of butterflies (Not a good idea if you don't like insects) and more hot springs
• Over we go to Santorini to visit the volcano, more gorgeous views, more hot springs and of course, the famous black sand beach
• Finally we return to Mykonos round 2 to finish off some unfinished business. You know what I am talking about......for those of you who don't know, well, you're just not important enough are you?
• Head back to Istanbul for last minute shopping, more food, more shopping and more food.
  
• My first visit to the US will be.......NEW YORK!! I've got ourselves a 3 day New Yorker pass which will give us access to the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, NBC studio etc etc. Going to head over to Tom's Cafe (The famous "Restaurant" in Seinfield) for some food as well.
• Last stop will be to San Francisco where we've booked a day tour to Alcatraz. (Enver doesn't know, but I plan to leave him stranded there). Of course, you cannot go to San Fran without going to Chinatown and union square!

Well........thats what we PLAN to do anyway.......you all should know what happens to our plans. I'll try to blog whilst overseas.....but I refuse to pay $10/hr to blog....AGAIN! Lets see how much of the above we actually end up doing.......
